Banned Crafting Mule Anyone?

Anyone elses crafting mule get banned? Speficially ones that only craft stuff that is farmed off another character and then results sold to NPC? My mule got suspended for synthing 120 light clusters into a synth (rather not say) over a weeks time and sold over 160 stacks of X item to NPC for decent profit. I believe they suspended me for being an RMT Guess ill have to call them in the morning.

Did you use automation tools to do the crafting?

nah i wanted a crafting bot i all the ones i found were either broken or had to pay for. I just watched tv with controller in my had and repeated the same buttons over and over again.

Square X hold left enter enter hold left enter wait a few square x triangle up x x hold left x x hold left x repeat. Was kinda cool after i could do it without even looking. Takes about 3hours to synth 50stacks of crystals nonstop.

Sad news indeed, but I was intrigued enough to do a little detective work...and if you are crafting the item that I am thinking of (not gonna say), assuming you really did farm 120 clusters, my calculations show that you made ~1,120,840 gil. That's assuming tier3 skill level (quite possible) and zero breaks. I'm jealous! Nice haul!

heh. i actually had the same idea as you. i presume your alchemy mule was on a different account from your main? i'm curious what trips SE's RMT detection, but i'm guessing that if gil and items never traffic between accounts, it shouldn't be caught by SE's methods and erroneously flagged.

353 per unit, -12 gil for water per synth. expected value of synth 553 gil per. 12*553*120*.95=~757k. right about what you figured.

My main now (Luciola) got banned when i took leather from 0-100, smithing and clothcraft 0-60 and goldsmithing 0-54 in a 4 week period. All i had to do was call and ask them exactly why my account was banned. They proceeded to tell me that it was for RMT activities. After a 45 minute conversation with 3 different morons asking them if theyve never heard of a character created for crafting (which it wasnt.. but still highest job was like 25), they said the character would be restored within 2 days. The next day it was back up and i had a gm call waiting on me. Another 2 hour conversation with the gm about how all my gil was left from Quizatsa and i wanted to get my crafts back to where they were and i was finally cleared of all RMT suspect.
It was still annoying to see "Warning! We have closed your PlayOnline account. blah blah blah (LM-11)" and having to explain yourself repeatedly. Thats what you call very very poor disgression in regards to your intent.

Heh, I got banned for monopolizing an NM in the recent banhammaring. 1/63 on KA and i got suspended 36hrs after i got that 1 belt... It was kinda funny.

But in regards to OP yes a couple of my friends had this happen to them as well, altho a quick phone call to SE cleared up things quickly... Still annoying, however.

According to them they called in and confirmed the accnt was theirs. From there on the Rep told them why they got banned (RMT crafting) and they just said that it was a craft mule on a seperate accnt of theres. Then I guess the Rep put in an order to restore the accnt. I guess the ultimate logic behind it (for the SE rep) was that RMT don't call for their char's back so the person calling in was probably a legit player. I'll ask when he logs on tonight, though, for further info.

Ask if he had the account on the same credit card as his main character too if you dont mind, friend of mine quit and gave me her 100 cloth char, kinda hesitant to put it on the same card.

I doubt simply having a crafting mule on a separate account is banworthy.

You need to take serious time and do nothing but craft and/or unload your wares within a short span of time.

True but let's just say you get a second account just to craft and you can 2 box it. What I would do is take money with my main char, give it to my crafting account, craft, craft, craft and.... yeah craft and then send back the money to my main char or whatever. So whenever i'll be logged on with my main, I will be with my crafting mule. If I would know a trick like the OP does, I'd do it all the time whenever i'm online on my main char with my mule, so it's possible to be spotted. But there's nothing wrong in doing this, if SE wouldn't unban the accounts, that would be bad but it looks like they give it back, so it's just annoying :/

Well, dual-boxing is a concern, but the ability to be actively engaged in an activity on your main and crafting to a steady rhythm on your mule is not really so easy. I'm picturing it more like someone has a laptop in front of them and their watching repeat episodes of Judge Judy while they just mindlessly type the same 10 keystrokes over and over and over.

I personally am a bit worried since I run all of my 10 mules' gardening harvests through 2 characters, one of which NPCs a lot of items and the other handles AH/Bazaar stuff. Maybe it's time to see if resourceful members of the community can peg down the rule for how much of a repeated action is a flagged thing, or if receiving X amount of gil from NPC(s) is flagged.

Well repeating an action 1 million of time is not sanctionned by SE ( well if you don't exploit a bug ), the sanctionned action is to take that money and sell it for IRL money. I don't know what they use as a base to say this char is from RMT or not, but if you have 2 accounts and the money is only sent from one char to another, it's easy to understand that you aren't a RMT and that account is owned either by you or someone else you know.

Maybe they are too fast to pull the trigger and want to impress us with big numbers. We banned 1000 account for crafting for RMT!! While in reality, there's a few % of that number that is legit ppl who got a second char.

And about your concern, I don't think you should be affraid but yeah, better be safe than sorry :/
