Fury (The Fury Challenge etc.)

Has anyone around here gotten into Fury? http://www.unleashthefury.com


For those that haven't, it's basically like an FPS with mmo characters. You have your basic toon, and learn new spells and abilities, gather money and buy gear, get gear rewards, yada yada.

But it's entirely based around basically battleground maps. There's no questing, no like raid dungeons and that kind of stuff, just your fps with your mmo toon.


Has a crazy system as far as both classes as well as abilities. First off, rather than your class deciding what spells you have, what spells you choose to equip determine what you're classified as. For example, a player with a lot of nature melee attacks and a fair amount of healer spells would be a Warden of Life.

The spells/abilities are where it deviates from the mmo norm the most. First, there's no auto attack. This is because of the mana type system. Rather than having a mana pool, or rage bar, or whatever, you work with charges. Every ability either gains or expends charges. It gets way more complicated than that, but that's the basics. There's a pretty darn good tutorial to get you to understand it quickly.


Anyway, just curious if anyone plays, or is looking to get into a game like that. It's entertaining and pretty original, good way to waste some time at least.

Yes. For free you get a reduced rate of basically exp gain, less money, and less loot rewards.

If you pay $20 for the game you get the normal exp gain, normal money, and 2 loot rolls per battle.


There's a status above that where you get extra exp/money and 3 loot rolls per battle, but I'm not sure how you get that.


You can also buy certain stuff for real money but I haven't really looked at that.


I play for free atm, considering paying the $20 if I decide I'm going to be messing around with it for a long time.

My current flavor is destroyer with some healer spells

I stick to air for attacking and water for the heals, for the most part.

apparently there's a new business model, I guess not enough people were paying, too many just playing for free, so they're changing it to basically there's no exp grind (still have to get money and gear tho, although I guess they're temporarily giving everyone pretty much infinite gold), you start out with all skills from all jobs, but you get a limited number of games per month unless you pay lol

I guess you can win some extra free games too not sure, but it's funny they're bullshitting acting like it's supposed to make the game more attractive when it's clearly just a last ditch effort to get what they can before they give up.
