muslims in general dont like what america stands for, and it can be very easily viewed as muslims dont like americans, or any westerner for that matter.

It goes much further beyond dislike and disagreement with the political beliefs of other countries. There's several hundred years of war, conquest (in some cases mutual), subversion, occupation and theft of resources.

This book does a terrific job of cataloging much of the more recent history of warfare in the Middle East, though it's a more painful and time-consuming read than most phone books.
