If it wasn't for BG, I'd still be posting on FFXIonline(where most importers posted and what got me interested in the game in the first place), and everyone else would still be on KI or Allakhazam. And... considering BG is better now than it ever was, I'm not seeing the point. When I started regularly browsing BG forums was occasionally good info, hype about JoL/AV, and lots and lots of drama(and within a few months, BerTIcus and a few other "REAL" BGers acting like annoying fags).

Nowadays, drama has burnt itself out(but still somehow tops itself with donation stealing and pedophiles), the BEST site for advice and information(not just endgame, but basically anything, even shit like chocobo breeding), and moderation/general opinion that makes it better than the previous 3 sites mentioned. I mean the only real thing you complain about is how lame Spam forum is getting, but that has nothing to do with the rest of the forum.

You're right. I'm sure that's why we've had to upgrade the server 4 times since we split with WoW BG because we were overtaxing the server. It has nothing to do with growth or popularity. They obviously single-handedly orchestrated our success by trolling non stop for a couple months.

JP man, I don't mind you all that much but you're fighting a losing battle here. Yes, Bert/Twentytwo/Ondori/all those people from old BG did a lot for the LS, but when the same came for the split they did some really horrible shit and handled the situation really poorly. Bert didn't deal with leaving the LS very well at all, but there were a lot of factors influencing him/bogging him down, mostly leadership issues. I frequent BG WOW forums often and I like the people there/don't mind them, but then I wasn't involved in any of this when it went down. I think you put them on a bit of a pedestal and try to ignore the things they did during/after the split.

There is no doubt that BGforums were the cornerstone of the NA end-game community. As big and well-known as BG was (sup BigKills), you talk of them like they were the vanguard of NA linkshells. Maybe on Bahamut, but far far from it compared to the achievements of linkshells on other servers.
