LS Database System (page2 - overall discussion)

I've been working with Reaulece and his LS Database MOD. While at the moment it is limited to wish list and reporting capabilities only, the eventual direction of his MOD will include a point system option and even the incorporation of linkshell bank functions. Needless to say, that is a little ways off. The next update currently being worked on is slated to include a drop tracking system and calendar, which will kind of serve as the groundwork for the later implementation of the point system.

Recently the LS Database dev forum was cleaned up a bit, so it is a little easier to navigate and get a better understanding of the current capabilities are.

edit: I've heard mentions that vBulletain was more secure than phpbb3, this mod you're working on will it be ported for both portal/forum platorms or only phpbb.

For now only phpBB3, need see in the future after all the main features will be done

I've been wrecking my head trying to figure out a seamless way to integrate

Portal/cms + Forum + point system + scheduler... Fucking teletubbies have a sick ass scheduling module they built from the ground up but since it was a home brew thing, they can't share it for security reasons.

THAT is one beautiful website! It displays the same kind of information like my website http://www.demols.com, but I didn't op for posting screenshots and articles because that annoys the shit out of me. Instead, I just display whatever drops we get as we get them, accompanied by the FFXIAHify script for each item. I don't have a pop up script that displays the player's profile when you hover their name but I have profile pages dedicated to each member. That website has given me a lot more ideas for player profiles and drop statistics, so thank you for enlightening me.

i wonder where they got the item database from. is there any source? we just built the db from scratch with as less details as possible since it would take too much time.

edit: ohh do you guys just use the ffxiah js script? looks like demols did, cc didn't.

I found bbDKP but their templates have games like lotr,wow,daoc etc.. but not fucking FFXI.

if i can find out how to wrap ffDKP into a phpbb or vb wrapper i'd have a good start.

Another interesting project is also going on over at http://bbdkp.net/ They have a system based on eqdkp integrated into phpbb already, in the suggestions thread they have a voting option for XI as well, If there's demand, they will likely create an XI mod for it.

The guys over at bbDKP have posted an update on the next release of their phpbb/dkp system.

Note: Possibly add more games to the install list?! We just need to talk to some people who would be willing to give up some of their time to give us information about the game so we can port it to bbdkp (FFXI !?) since none of the developers play any other games.

So it is back to us, these guys are willing to add support for ffxi, to this intuitive and well designed forum integration, but they need help of people from within the community. Jump over there to those guys and post up!

Update 2; I got a message from the project leader who is essentially offering to sit down with myself (or anybody really with some end-game FFXI knowledge) to make the necessary edits for porting FFXI support.

His team might have time to sit down tonight on their vent server. Anybody here interested would also like to participate to help make sure that these guys get enough information regarding Raid structuring necessary to facilitate a proper port...

It has always been my dream to have a stock DKP system for FFXI, but I never had the knowledge to code it, only contribute the numbers and concept.
