    LapTop cooler

Just want to know what kind of like CoolingBay type thing works well

I know I need one as it get to about 80c and shuts off when I use it at a table

Should I get one with fans, are they really needed, or just the bottom being up will fix it? If I do get one with fans, one with a USB plug would be best right?
And maybe an idea on a good brad because I have found close to 50 costing 16.99 to 219.99

    Thanks for any info.

Just a normal sized Compaq. Just looking for the name of a good brand and a style that works well, don't think the kind of laptop matters.

if your system is popping 80C and shutting off, you need to contact Compaq and have the unit exchanged for safety concerns! (Dunno the exact procedure, but when my old Dell melted down the call was " My system has just melted my lapdesk." Technician:"Ok. Issuing an unit exchange immediately")

i just got this the other day. it works amazing.

i have a 17" widescreen, so there is a little bit of over hang. seems this was designed for 15" notebooks. either way even with that said, this thing does an amazing job of cooling. my internal fan didnt even turn on in DA with 140+ people in it.

Your laptop fan is probably caked in dust. If you had a Dell, you could just open the case and spray the fan and heatsink clean with some canned air. I don't know how Compaq seals their laptops, you might void your warranty by opening it.

Failing that, you can prop up the back end of your laptop 0.5-1" with a box of gum or something. Laptop coolers are a waste of money.
