    Re: Keeping Linkshell Sites Interesting

Definitely keeping it updated is a plus. Aesthetics always help too.

For my LS site I always try to implement stuff I used to have on various others sites I've made before.

Listening to my LS members always helps for getting different input I didn't think of before. Lots of features on my site are pretty much beta scripts I did. Like I always tell them, if you can think it then I can more than likely program a script for it. Most of my better features are only available to LS members (profile modifying/our event system)

    Check it out.

Although, I find I'm never really content with it. I'm always making changes, adding new things, moving around certain other stuff ..e.t.c.

Made my own cms to integrate with vbulletin. Turned out to be easier than I thought it'd be lol I always liked making my own things, easier to make additions for :3

why doesnt he host the images on the actual site instead of using photobucket, isnt that the point of having a website?

    Here's mine ^^
    http://www.demols.com

Instead of taking screenshots of drops then posting them on front page, I made a MySQL database of our daily drops. It's much easier doing it this way than having to crop and upload images to the server, in my opinion.

You can do more with this type of data too. I have a similar items database as somepage, but I'm missing some data for weapons and other stuff. You can mouse-over the drop name and it'll display the stats on that item, which is pretty convenient if you don't know what a particular item does.

I have another page that displays the drop log from the beginning and you can sort the drops and such. I still have to work on isolating information when sorting.

The roster page has the same functions as the drop log, and also has mouse-over effects for more information on the member.

I have a mini-gallery of pictures using LightBox integrated together with some PHP code.

My forum is pretty typical. I'm using phpBB3 and added a bunch of modifications to it, such as ThickBox for [img] tags.

    Enjoy ^^

    edit: spelling

As with a previous poster, our site has a rotating banner that will change each time you refresh the page. It's semi old and we are in the process of making the entire site over as well as upgrading the forums.

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures! Although, seeing Bahamut, Tiamat, Vrtra, etc etc over and over again can blend to be the same I spose. But, I only make an update once a month much like other linkshells such as the one we are all posting on right now. I have found I just don't have the drive to do it daily >.> I always think about making a live journal or w/e but it would never work cause it would get neglected horribly lol...

Anywho, our ls is on the Ramuh server and the url to our site can be found in my sig~

A couple of those screens are REALLY nice. Shots of pools are nice and all, but nice action shots are even better.

He's content with using photobucket and hasn't had a problem with his bandwidth before. Like he said in a previous post, our site got lots of hits this month.

    Re: Keeping Linkshell Sites Interesting

I'm glad you guys like it ^^

Like I say we are in the process of upgrading the forums and plan on making alot of changes to the main page. When we started out we hosted out site on lolguildportal....

    http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.asp...4&TabID=863813

Ramuh is infested with ppl who love to start bs drama and post bs under anon names through Guildportal. We decided a while back after our first website was invaded and destroyed by haters that we would move on to our own thing. While it's nothing special, doing the update once a month makes me, and the rest of the server squirm in anticipation for it. I only say that because we get tells and messages on our board reminding us when it's late

If anyone would like to register on our forums for use, or w/e, by all means, feel free ^^
