Green lines and other graphical glitches

I have a Radeon 9800 pro video card and Asus P4P8X motherboard. Just a few days ago I started getting green vertical lines all over my screen. They randomly go away, and randomly come back. People have suggested it is because it's overheating, but it happens in the morning right when I turn my computer on. I cleaned the dust off the video card and reseated it and it was good for 4-5 hours and then it started happening again. Dunno if I need to just go buy a new video card or what, but I'd like to know why it's doing this. I also swapped monitors and still had the problem, and it also occurs when I'm in the BIOS. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like:

Sometimes it'll be fine and then it'll just randomly start happening again. I dunno what else to do, and I don't know if I need to post any other info >_> so just let me know lol

Aside from the fact the conditions scream dying video card to me, have you tried changing the drivers?

[EDIT] Nvm, didn't notice that you mentioned it did so in the BIOS as well (as clarified below), changing drivers won't do jack at that rate.

Dying video card most likely, seeing that you get the green lines in the bios as well, definitely can't be a driver issue.

I had a 9800pro just go on me not to long ago. It did the same thing as the image is showing with your moogle but mine did it with most of the stuff on screen. Best bet is to pick up a new G.C otherwise it might screw up your system like mine did.

This happened to me a while back. Definitely means your graphics card is dying/over heating. The graphical anomalies would appear randomly and if I changed camera angles, they'd go away. Problem was solved when I got a new card (and a power source with the right amount of voltage ).

Agreed. Those green lines = ATI9800 is about to go PIFF!

Suggestion: don't replace it with another 9800Pro. I got that to happen with 3 different 9800s (under warranty). A GeForce 7600 is a good replacement for an AGP slot.

I've had similar problems with a DVI cable not being fully plugged in.

That would not cause the Moogle 3D aberration. Overall it's a sign of faulty video memory.
