Problem with HD TV

This is for a friend but..

He can't get his computer to display on his HD TV, it's 1080i.

Shows the bios loading, loads up windows (the green bar of vista) and just before the glowy orb he gets a blue screen. He can get it to display in safe mode but not out of safe mode.

He's using an 8800 GTX and a DVI->HDMI cable to hook it up to his TV.

Any clues? We're both flat out

What does the blue screen say?

We can't tell, only displays for like half a second then just restarts

Boot into safe mode then turn off Automatically restart under System failure. (Windows Key + Pause/Break, Advanced system settings, 3rd settings button)

double check what refresh rates the tv can display and make sure settings on the comp match it.

Ehh he installed new drivers, tried it again and it worked. Guess that was the problem..lol.
