PS3 Wifi trouble

Usually I would think it's just the router's wireless signal, but my fiancee's laptop is working just fine connecting to the net via wifi. It's only on the ps3 that i'm having trouble.

Whenever i try to log on to the playstation network, it either doesn't let me or it logs me off right after i get on, and it's only in call of duty 4 right now.

I can log onto the playstation network fine through just the playstation settings, and when i test the connection it say's everything is fine. but when i try to play CoD4 online it boots me off.

I'm not sure what to do really or is there a way I can patch this and it's a common problem.

appreciate any input or at least if anyone else is experiencing this.

I have had this happen once, it happened for a day, around maybe a week after release of COD4. I would log in and everything is fine, and start COD4 up, go online and when I tried to get a game going, I would be disconnected every time I tried to do this. The weird thing is this only happened for a day, after that it hasn't happened to me again. I don't really remember changing anything, so it might just be a weird server problem on Infinity Ward, or Sony's side, I dont know =/ Maybe you can try reseting or unpluging/repluging in your modem and router.

It's wierd, a laptop works fine on the wireless from the router. the playstation does not, but I plugged a wired connection into the router and the game worked fine again. So either it is the wireless on my router, or it's the wifi card on the PS3.

I've had this router so long that maybe it's just old, i can't access it anymore cause i don't remember the login info. I might have to get a new one.

only problem with the wired connection is the router is like 30 feet from where the PS3 is. it seems like a quick fix til i can get the wireless figured out though.

If you cannot access your router to open up ports for PSN/COD4, then that might be your problem :\

disabling uPnP on the ps3/router always fixed any disconnection issues i had like that.
