Re: question for Maat's Cap people

I did RNG maat at 67(pre-velocity shot update), at that time i had max archery merit, i won really easy, didnt have to use EES either.

eat attack food, Wing, barrage, sidewinder, shoot barrage, sidewinder again, maat give up.

My sister told me the most effective way to get Maat was to run in and Sleep first. Buff up while he's sleeping. Goblin mushpots help (+10mnd).

A buffed up RDM Maat is not your friend.

At 70, it's cake if you can follow a strat well and think on your toes. Somewhere in-between is definitely doable. 68 is Shell IV (meh). 69 is the magic level though, Aero 3 is a clincher.

edit: Yes the rest are uncapped. There's a video of a RDM75 going in and straight-up meleeing Maat, only sleeping during his chainspell. It was easy as pie. I believe all the fights at 75 will be easy.
any chance you can link that video? i've been meaning to pound maat into oblivion on my rdm but i'd love to see how gimp he gets when you're 75.

also, in an unrelated question, if i can borrow a kclub (i have a friend who i think can hook me up. lucky bastard went like 1/5 on it...) how bad would drk be at 66?

I don't see such an implication. >_> He's just saying stop Maat from buffing (ie: Protect/Shell/Blink) by running in and sleeping him as soon as possible.

i read that too where he was saying about goblin mushpots. now that you clarify that makes things a lot clearer and self-facepalmer. ^^

Here is a 66 RDM Maat (31 sub) beating Maat using sword and shield, I don't know much about RDM but it doesnt look like the best strategy but it worked and he won.

Pretty certain that you can't steal-win, if it isn't your first Maat fight. I just forgot about that earlier.

yeah. that was all kinds of not good. first rdm maat fight i've ever seen. damn but does he go psycho on the CS. i do see what the previous poster was saying about charging in very fast and pinning maat with sleep ASAP to prevent him from buffing.

btw, how many times can you reliably sleep maat (i'm 75 rdm w/ enf merits from my blm. mostly AH rdm w/ some random decent bits like af2 shirt. most of my decent gear is inherited from my blm.) before he starts to build a tollerance? seeing his chainspell and getting a tad nervous about it, i'm contemplating sleep nuking him till he CSes and sleeping him thru his CS before answering with a t3 chainspell salvo. am i overthinking this horribly?

Re: question for Maat's Cap people

You should be able to sleep nuke him the entire fight, though one of my friends timed out a few times that way.

With pimp gear at 69, the answer is about 4-5. At 75? You'll completely slaughter him.

At 75, this would be my plan:

Spawn, poison pot, run in, diaga (he can blink after spawn), CS, Thunder3 until he gives up. You have to do about 2500 damage to him, that is such a low amount to a 75 with T3 and a Thunder Staff. He *will not* kill you at 75 with his Chainspell, which he won't even fire until the 3rd or 4th nuke hits.
