My coworker volunteers at a nonprofit organization, that grows/distributes medicinal weed. He gets about 1 Gram an hour (iirc) instead of hourly pay. He says its probably the best shit out there, as they grow multiple strains.

I'm starting to miss my high-school days when my friends and I were calling delivery services all the time and picking up some righteous bud....G-13, Widow, AK. just killer bud. oddly now that I'm smoking a lot less I'm just smoking regs because I'll twist a joint when I get home and slowly, but surely smoke the whole thing to the head.

and at least when I was doing services, $50-60 was the going rate for a decent 1/8, now i just pick up dimes from a guy i work with, convenience is bliss.

I never understood why people would pay $50-$60 for an eigth of cryp. I used to get kush, purp, sour D, and on the rare occasion chocolate haze for the same price.

My friends are assholes and like to sell good mids as cryp. Which is probably the main reason why I never understood it.

Has to do with the age old question of why people smoke disgusting weed, when there's so much good bud out there. So if you don't know what diesel or OG kush is, odds are you just smoke what gets handed to you.

I almost exclusively smoke mids. You don't have to lecture me about the difference between mids and dank; I've smoked my fair share of all sorts of exotic weed. But what it comes down to is that I can get an eighth ounce of mids for $10 where if I want even mediocre dank I have to pay $60-70. And as much as I love smoking, I'm not about to spend $150 a week on it. I reserve dank for special occasions, and for whenever anyone is offering, obviously :

Being in L.A., a lot of people get their hands on medical for recreational purposes. I've never heard anyone claim that it's not great compared to whatever pot they were smoking before. Most people swear by it.

Medicinal weed is amazing. San Diego is trying to stamp them out. They tried to close down all the smoke shops in Pacific Beach. I also think there's some funny shit going on between the Feds and city government. Some of my friends that work in clubs say that the owners get audited every few months and are served up notices for tax evasion and the like for no real reason.

Depending on where your from weed prices vary a lot. I'm from MT and safe to say that weed here is rather pricey. 40 dollars is pretty much the standard charge, better stuff starting at 50 and going up. There are certain towns that are either small or really shitty that are always dry and you can jack prices around like crazy. The small hick town that I'm from it wasn't unheard of to pay 60 bucks for pretty average stuff.

Anytime I go out of state it always impresses me with prices. In OR especially the prices are just crazy. Stuff you can get there, "work" you can gte for 30~40 easily, and here you pay at least 50 bucks for that kind of stuff, its ridiculous.

Every dry/shitty small town in MT that i have lived/worked in tends to be where you can get the best shit for free if you know the right people. When i was in college over in bozeman i was giving $40/eigth for pretty good shit. Hell one time my ex gf baught a pound of brick weed for $50. Spent the night sorting it and made brownies. But i would never smoke that brick shit. When i moved to a town of 150 people i was like shit this is gonna suck. Well come to find out 70% of the people there grew there own shit and god some of it was awesome. Dont overlook the rednecks and hillbilles cause most of them love this shit. As for me i quit smoking about 4 years ago. Found a job that was just too good to risk failing a test.

But yeah if i were to go back i would just grow my own. Fuck Paying for something that is so simple to grow.

in some scenarios it's also a matter of availability and ease to get. at least in NYC the only way to get the goods is through delivery services...which is a long, ornate, pricey process just to score some killer weed. when the stars aligned and it was possible, it was the only way to go. but that was pending the operator didn't fuck with you, you had a house you could wait at for the delivery, and the guy wasn't a shmuck and tried to run a bad bag on you. the 3 big ones (that I know of) at least when I was using them were Green Apes, Evergreen, and Cartoon Network.

Apes = needed to be rep'd by a previous "client", they had to have both your name, number, and address on record or they wouldn't come. 1-2 hour wait, $50 1/8. but when the guy came, he'd unload a shoebox full of cases of so many different strains it make your head spin.

Evergreen = much more relaxed, only needed to recognize the number. 40-60 min wait, Brooklyn only. $50 1/8. when the person showed up, they'd walk in and simply present you with 2 cases overflowing with bud, you simply chose on the spot, which was fine because it was always fantastic.

Network = manhattan only, pains in the arses, would leave you hanging forever. $60 1/8, but when they did come through, my oh my did they ever come through in the best of fashion.

sadly now that I have my own place, I dont know if any of these people still operate. and at least in the circles I walk in, you cant score any highs off your typical street deal, and the costs for hydro is so out of wack to buy it by weight, its just easier to buy mids. If i could score me a decent connect I'd be all about it, since I only smoke once a day I rather have a bowl/pinner of really good weed. but as it stands I'm living the life of picking up dimes that I can roll 3-4 joints out of, so i cant complain.

Oh yeah, and I can buy kief for $10/gram, iso hash for $15/gram, bubble hash for $25/gram, and hash oil for $30/gram. Oh yeah, they have multiple different strains of each too (do I want the super silver haze kief or the OG Kush kief next time I pickup?)

Oh, and I forgot to mention edibles. $10 gets you a four serving edible. One serving is enough to get a recreational smoker faded for the entire night. Unfortunately my tolerance is pretty high so I had to eat the whole thing to get the same effect as my friends.

But honestly I'd have to say my favorite thing about this med club that I go to is the fact that even if you mix and match different eighths, if you buy an oz they will still give you an oz price. So I can walk out of there with eight different eighths of weed, all of them equally dank, for $320 instead of $400. Awesome

Well originally I used Ambien to mask the problem (i.e. help me get to sleep without treating the underlying problem, the anxiety). Once I was a sophomore in college I tried weed a couple times and realized it helped with both my anxiety and getting me to sleep, so I talked to my doctor. My primary care doc said he didn't know enough about MMJ to prescribe it to me so he referred me to a specialist. My meeting with that guy was pretty simple. He confirmed what my primary care doctor had written and then asked if and how MJ has helped my conditions in the past. I told him it helped greatly. He wrote me a script.

I would be lying to you if I said I smoke purely for medical reasons, but that doesn't mean my script is just a justification to smoke.

EDIT: And weed really is the best medicine. I mean, I just got a terrible stomach flu early this week (I still have it) and without weed I'm not sure how I'd be functioning. I had to get through two midterms and a quiz without shitting and/or vomiting everywhere. The solution? Smoke a nice bowl before the exam. "But how will you remember what you studied or be able to do well on the test if you're high?" you demand. The answer is simple. State dependent learning works; study high, take the exam high, get high grades.

In all seriousness though, the stomach pains and nausea I've had from this flu would be nearly unbearable without weed. Blaze on fellow blades.
