Best feet for end game war.

I used AF boots. I was geared towards DA and used duel axes so I felt this was the best option. I wasn't a ridill WAR but I could very easily hold my own. Also, this was pre 2H buff.

Right now I do pole strap / askar / 5/5 merits / brutal / AF feet, just started doing the full DA set for TP and still really getting a feel for it / testing, but it's nice.

I think overall though 3% haste is going to win out over the 1% added to DA when I'm at 25% anyways.

I plan on just using Ares since I don't want to spend money on a piece of gear that I have to macro off every time I want to move.

As for Unicorn and Dusk, it depends on which is going to annoy you less; slow movement speed or not having 3% haste all the time.

I personally pass on WAR AF feet. 1% double attack is going to give a very marginal return unless you're trying to max it out as much as you can.

There is no use in stacking double attack gear. Use stuff like Brutal that is actually the best option for the slot, but it doesn't have cumulative returns like haste/delay reduction so there is no excuse to use shit gear like AF boots.

EDIT: I, too, feel that dusk > unicorn because you lose that 3% haste when you are in a desperate situation where you have to tank with yellow-red HP. In merits pt, if you can keep chain, use whatever.

so yes, would nq dusk be better than amir for a meat eating war? if not i'm gonna save some more gil up for pcc as i'm using chiv chain atm ;;

If you're at 17% haste, getting only Haste spell (no marches), and you're looking at 85-88% acc; the amir will probably parse slightly better. In cases where you're getting marchx1/2, you are probably better off with the nq dusk. In either sense it's going to be a small difference

I prefer unicorn, I have enough haste to manage myself, if I drop to that low of a HP where I have to "tank" Ill just deal with it, I rarely ever have serious problems where there isnt another DD in my pts that can pull hate off me, even just for a second, to slap some shadows on.

If you are having that much trouble with your haste that you cant stay in enough HP to have the haste latent, look at your healer, not your boots.

Nyzul Isle bosses: Fafnir, Cerberus, Khimaira. Situation where your PT is 3DD, THF, BRD, RDM and the mob is spamming gay ass AOEs, every point of haste helps on putting shadows back after AOE. But each to their own, I don't really care how you rationalize it.

Personally Dusk Ledelsens > Unicorn because you don't have to worry about the latent. You also get HP and it can also be used on other jobs.

I had Unicorn for a while, sold em and went back to dusk because doing Campaign as War/Dnc, Uni are just pretty footgear most of the time, in sky I was constantly begging to get cured into latent with all the AoE from Golems and the like. Just got sick of it.

Rather have a run macro to swap my dusk (I already swap my dusk hands) than lose my haste anytime I take 300ish damage.

I'd never liked latents/hiddens that were HP dependant. So I would say Dusk > Unicorn.

I do everything as War, no other jobs. This means if I'm killing an NM for someones AF, soloing a key, farming organs, killing to get parry ups, or just doing campaign, I've gotta take care of my healing usually.

In theory Uni > Dusk, but given what a pain it is to make sure you're always in white HP with no healer, and the fact that there is a lot more than just meriting for some Wars, 2 > 0.

Also: Askar head is damn sexy, I'd most likely never wear the turban again if I got one.

My question wasn't rethorical, it was asked cause discussion here, even if related to feet part, is strictly connected with haste issue. I know that Askar > Walmart when it comes to DPS, but for solo or duo it's much more disputable. Droping 1% haste for me is droping 1sec on Utsu:Ni, not many but still 1s saved my butt lots of times.
