I played because playing was the only thing, the only thing I was ever good at, but at least I always played for what I truly believed in.

because this game is more addictive than drugs.
quitz ? wutz dat!
It was friends, but then I noticed that my F-list was always empty. It was a who's who of people that had been banned. Now I just enjoy the relaxing grind and hilarious accents of L2 + clan vent.

I could be wrong, but I get a kick out of it when people say "friends". I'm fairly confident most, if not all of these people will stop talking to you once you leave the game.
Goals. Need to complete all the gear/mission/jobs/crafting like I originally planned.
Mainly just because my WHM has been 63 since before I had a single 75 and I keep saying I'm going to finish him...
Most not all tho.Originally Posted by Norelco

And I'm not doing it for drops or anything, but just because pretty much, killing these kind of mobs is the only thing I still enjoy from the game.
Salvage was an awesome thing too, but due to some circunstances it is not anymore (personal reasons).
Players with names like Laeral, Tekito, Legendkid, Snarf, Tcj, Tekki, Daviot, Sore, and Plightkeep me playing.
Events like salvage keep me going, nyzul drives me insane on how easy it is from floors 1-20 but how a bad group of people can fail so quickly.
I'm looking for more content and perhaps even.. uncapped exp limit.![]()

Mostly Dynamis, Salvage and Assault
I was hoping wotg would keep me busy, big mistake so far. With an 1080p screen and playing games like mass effect, change to FFXI kinda hurt my eyes... well, so i think i log to chat with friends and try to lv something only to unlock xbox 360 achievements, what else can i do with a bst 75?
Now at 563 days playtime and thats not mule hours either in there, I am "surprised" I am still playing. Remember back to when this weird "new style" Final Fantasy game first came out, at the time MMO's where not the standard and for a FF fan to even think of getting out of his turned based zen was a far leap of faith on Squares part. Hehe now years later I can hack and slash the gods with the best of them and not take turns. Swore I would never get used to the fact of talking to people with online either. Hehe sure now that I have run a linkshell for 4 years with over 100 members atm, I guess i got used to that part too.
No matter what they do to the series as long as there is a chocobo to ride, airships in the sky, quest that drive you nuts then I will be there. Of course would be nice to have my relic black mage jacket and hat, dynamis can be so tedious. I have made more "real" friends on this game that have even come to visit my house and some I even exchange Christmas presents, then any where else in last few years including that zone called "r/l".
Bottom line I keep playing for "newsiest" part of Final Fantasy... "us". Now we are the Final Fantasy, too.
(be kind this is first post here /bow)
1.Still haven't maxed out my main job.
2.Addictive social aspect.
Friends.
I feel bad just deleting everything... stupid emotions.
It's really just about the friends at this point since all I do when Im on is talk to people. I level BST at the same time just so I dont have any real commitment to anything and I can leave when Im bored.
I wish that was the case. Everyday I fire up my AIM I get a bunch of messages from people who left the game some time ago. An rarely do they ask about FFXI.Originally Posted by Norelco
i have to agree with this. I've tried quitting, but i always get drawn back into the game. until they shut the servers down or i get hauled off to jail, i'm going to keep playing.Originally Posted by KeitsukiTakahashi
