Working on leveling different jobs is one thing. I'm finishing up my 4th job to 75 now.

Also, attempting new challenges. At this point, I have fought almost every HNM in the game, yet there are still things that can be a fun challenge. A little while ago, my ls claimed Cerberus with only 5 people, and we fought it with just us and killed it. Fighting and killing Cerb with only 5 people was very exciting, and provided memories I won't soon forget.

Another thing is getting new gear for my character. Many people may deny it, but there's definitely an excitement factor when you finally complete a set of AF2, abjuration, limbus, salvage, or nyzul isle gear. The satisfaction from seeing your hard work pay off is great.

This made me realise that I haven't actually completed any sets (apart from lolAF) /em is sad

I took a few months away from the game after my old HNMLS broke and I just lost interest in the game. When I first came back I thought I wanted to jump back into the endgame scene but I really didn't like ignoring everything in my REAL life to grind the same shit over and over for no rewards(But hey, I got a Justice sword rotted to me after almost 2 years in my last HNMLS!).

I've been spending my time in game hanging out with friends and helping my fiancee out with various quests/missions and the game is so much more fun when you don't treat it like a job. It's just sad I almost quit without realizing I could have fun with XI again, something I hadn't felt in probably 3 years.

I have to level a mage job to 75 before I quit. I took 2 melees to 75 and 2 more melees to the 60s range. I'm really just getting the most of out of this game right now and enjoying it again. When the next SE MMO comes out, I'll give it a try. Mainly because I can't play PC MMOs.

Ok first let me see what I have accomplished.
1. Rank 10 Bastok/SandOria/Windurst, ZM Complete, CoP Compleate (even Bv2 and Apoc Night), ToA Complete
2. Jobs 75rdm/whm/blm/smn/brd/pld/drg/war/rng
3. Been in great endgame LS and killed EVERY sky god, ground kings, HNM
4. Meet so many good people I would like to call friends.
5. Gotten countles of Abjurations for all my jobs, AF2 gear, Speed Belt x2, etc

Ok So now why do I keep playing???

1. Awaiting new missions and storyline of WotG
2. I want Maat's Cap...sadly I do...
3. Still gotta beat Absolute Virtue, Odin and watever new WotG is gonna appear
4. I will miss all theses people I've talked to, I love the social aspect of this game
5. I want a Relic....

I just turned around and PS2ed it up while I was LFG for hours on drg, and would turn around every 10 mins or so. Not like you can do much in-game in the meantime.

Don't get me wrong, I miss the game, but I have zero ability to balance it with my RL. I have that "all or nothing" type of personality so if I got back into the game I know I'd be playing at least 6-8 hours a night.

That was my reason for being gone for a few months; I didn't think I could play the game casually. I forced myself through endgame detox and now I can happily play a few hours a week and be perfectly content. Ah, sweet freedom.

i have to agree with this. I've tried quitting, but i always get drawn back into the game. until they shut the servers down or i get hauled off to jail, i'm going to keep playing.

yeah... its soo sad but true lol i log on sometimes n just sit watching whats happening in WG... unno its my addiction dont do much else in lines of gaming/tv mostly this n halo3 :O soo i guess instead of sitting infront my TV everynight i sit here ^^ that and my friends here are awesome<3
