But yeah, I don't let what others perceive as a "special day" dictate when to express my feelings. I express em whenever I want, her birthday (all the flowers were born that day too! :nikkei: ), anniversary/day we met, among others.

Just because companies like to cash in on these events, it doesn't make them any less special. Your <significant other> could be looking forward to this day, it gives people something to think about , an upcoming event they can have together.

I just find it funny when people are so quick to complain about these things, but are more than happy to accept gifts on said event, or take a holiday instead of continuing working through it all (optionally). (Not saying you are, I am rambling at this point. You see, back in 1942, we weren't friends with the germans...)

If catering to corporate greed bothers you so much, you could try not being a piece of shit and making her (or maybe him? ) something. Write a poem, make a collage of pictures of the two of you together, cook dinner for her, stop being a cheap dilhole and be creative. It's not hard, and chicks eat that stuff up (and this stuff too )

Hey, thanks to everyone who judged me and called me a piece of shit, but it just so happens my girlfriend feels the exact way I do, that I can express the way I feel on any day of the year and that Valentine's Day is, for the most part, a huge scam.

Not really, neither of us gives a flying shit about "vd." There's a big difference between celebrating a day which has no significance whatsoever to either, than a bd, which I consider to be very special. By "anniversary" I'm not celebrating the chronological age of the relationship, it's something else. Whether you want to dispute my use of "anniversary," and thus, contradicting my claim, then I guess I need to come up with a new type of measurement. How about: 30x10^6 sec.?

In short, do w/e makes you happy w/o hurting others and yourself. If celebrating "vd" makes you happy, then go for it.

If I were you I would, since anniversary's root word means annual (or, yearly or "year").

My girl is in Mexico. Mexicans are notoriously sappy, so hopefully guys don't try to woo her. I'm not sure if I'll do anything though. I might just send her a lame e-card or something and call her. There's really not much I can do at this point. If I wanted to send her flowers I woulda had to remember VDay like 3 weeks ago, f that.
