Is it just me or are these projections ridiculously premature? CNN has under 10% of precincts reporting in any one state, so what are they basing these projections on?

Its done by statistical sampling and its pretty accurate. Only when it is too close to call will they hold off calling a state until everything is counted (although not always... like 2000 election)

Huckabee won West Virginia but for this reason

John McCain trailing, his backers switched their support to Mike Huckabee to deprive Romney of the win. Huckabee was expected to earn 18 delegates in the state. However, NBC affiliate WSAZ-TV of Huntington, W.Va., reported that Huckabee would give three of those delegates to the Ron Paul campaign in exchange for his support.

Yeah, I meant the important part to me. It's also important to the Paul campaign as his strategy from the beginning has been to pick up any and all delegates he can get especially focusing on the uncommitted delegates (of which there's about 40 of right now) and of those that went to people who have dropped out. He most likely still won't win, but every delegate he has gives more credence to the libertarian part of the Republican base.

Ah yes, we have two county clerks facing off. By all accounts, both are literate, so it's gonna be a tough choice.
