Personally, I'd put more blame on that 12-year-old's mommy, that crapped him out when she was 17 (give or take). It wasn't his idea to grow up with no money and no daddy. Even though she probably grew up the same way, her bad decisions were a couple years later, so she gets more of the responsibility.

I'd say that's probably a valid point, but at this point I think what we can agree on is that it IS a problem, mother or child, whoever the blame falls on, societal and cultural norms are not standard through race and class, and lead to scenarios like this, if all things otherwise aren't standard why should public opinion be forced to be standard?
