The thought that the action (the tantara itself) could be dark based and thus land longer on pcharm/snipers seems to match my experiences. I always seemed to think it interesting how my static's thf always shook off amnesia faster than anyone else, all the time. Now that I remember, at the time, said thf used rajas and jaeger's for tping rings and had no pcharm. No -drk resist at all.

Of course it could just be bloody random.

Sadly I dont have PCC, but i do have the 2x sniper's an it always seemed to last longer on me than anyone else in pt's

I noticed that when I cast Barfira on my party wearing AF2 pants and fully merited barspells that my party can evade Abrasive Tantra. So I would have to say it's fire based too. Perhaps those people in your party are wearing gear that lowers their fire defence. I know that we saw a huge difference on someone that was fighting with a BQ ring on, vs when they took it off

As War/Nin it always seems to last a VERY long time on me, usually double what other people have it last. Maybe it's cause I always wore bomb core but from what I had heard,altho there's no proof of it is that it was based on your MND. Just something I had heard while in exp pt's and stuff.

Abrasive Tantra is indeed fire based, as when I solo imps in the Mire as my Smn, it's almost always resisted by Leviathan and Ifrit (I've seen it land maybe three times on Leviathan out of hundreds of uses, and I've never seen it land on Ifrit, though I just used it to test what element Abrasive Tantra was, and never tested it with him more than a dozen times)

Tantara lasts quite a bit longer on my DNC when Im exping compared to the other people Im PTing with. I did notice me and the SAMs wore around the same time though.

for resist info, i wear rajas and jaeger so nothing there, but i use bomb core and p charm, altho i would have used rse sachet on bst when my sam would have it longer than me as well

Might be possible that the duration or resist rate is based on INT, or elemental resistance? I have sometimes wondered this myself, because I have nothing to do while amnesia is stuck on me.

I can vouch for somewhat consistent deltas in the duration of amnesia on different people. Seems when I go fight imps with a group, the debuff wears off generally in the same order for everyone there.

Also, on Dragoon pets it takes forever to wear off, and when Healing Breath '4' is your only source of healing...

I remember reading somewhere in a Journal about a 2003 update where they changed base resists to 0. Where before your resists used to go up as you level.

Like wind resist +3 per level, or something, and it'd show.

Maybe it differs from job to job, since some jobs would have more "Base" hidden Fire resist. o:

It always seemed to me that Fire Resist and Resist Virus reduced its duration (...not that the latter really makes any fucking sense). WARs and /WARs seemed to have it last shorter durations. There's not much Fire+/- gear I can think of that people wear regularly in EXP other than Bomblet/Core.
