Im not even sure what to title this

I have files that were saved as .txt but are actually parts of FFXI install discs. I managed to get them all into an ISO using MagicISO, however they just appear on the iso as .txt's. I can get FFXI00 to mount if I just select that however, thats only going to mount FFXI00 ONLY and will only download me like 9% of the game.

So I guess my question is this, is there a way for me to change the already downloaded files extensions or must I redownload with another method? If I try to redownload them, Im only given 2 options. To download as a .txt or "all programs."

P.S. I would have just posted this in the "Downloading FFXI" thread that Bebop made but I didnt like the way Tajin and Koga treated Krye (even though he is a moron), and I didnt want them to get all "Nick Burns: your company's computer guy" on me.

    Thanks in advance!

Uh, where did these files come from and how did they become .txt's?

I assume you downloaded all those files into the same folder and then ran the 'ffxi.bat' as if it were an executable file, right?

Actually, no I wasnt able to do that. Running ffxi.bat yielded me no results, a command window would open up for a split second then disappear. Is my original question irrelevent for the situation?

As far as I understand it, running the .bat should have created an iso which you could then burn or mount.

Might wanna shoot Aikar a PM

Open up an Explorer window to the place where you downloaded all the files.

Go to Tools -> Folder Options on the menu.

    Click on the View tab.

Make sure that "Hide extensions for known file types" is UNchecked.

    Click OK.

Rename each of the files to remove the .txt, so the files are just named ffxi01, ffxi02, ffxi03, etc

    Run the .bat file.

do what zosi said, thats the problem is your browser saved them with .txt at the end but the .bat file wants no extension
