And they still suck as far as hacking/items dropped/deleted/removed/etc. is concerned.

I wouldn't say they outright suck, it's just that they've been learning through their own mistakes which is not the greatest way to approach customer services. Anyone who got hacked last winter or before then was pretty much screwed or had to go get legal documents to have their accounts restored or even investigated. And even then in best cases it took months or you got no results at all. But ever since the small changes to ToS last spring most of the recent account compromises in the past six months or so have been resolved within 2-3 weeks and accounts have been restored pretty much perfectly. After observing SE's current game data restoration process first-hand in my own household this summer I'm not personally scared of being hacked and losing everything anymore.
