I talked to him tonight; he describes Dubai in a positive note for the most part. There's not much to say about Dubai, coming from America. It's a hot and very large city, and modern for the most part. When I asked him about population and density, he told me that it's ok; not too crowded, spread out evenly, etc. etc.
Expect a lot of sand, heat, and grass only in downtown areas. As for the beggars and the homeless, he says he hasn't encountered any. When I asked him, it was a quick and confident, "no." Wasn't sure what else to ask on a footnote; I'll talk to him again if you have any specific questions in mind.
