I imagine one of the ideas behind that (or excuse, whichever you prefer) is that rollbacks would only effect the compromised account. For example, Joe is jacked by Tom. All of Joe's gear/gil is moved to Tom's character, including say a Kraken Club. Joe gets his account back, gets it rolled back, all of a sudden now there are two Kraken Clubs, one of which was effectively "duped".

If they made rollback a policy on a whole, I wouldn't be surprised if you saw someone with an AV item get his account "jacked" by his LS mate, then low and behold he miraculously gets it back. And everything is forgiven. <wink wink>

No solution is perfect, and the only thing you can ever count on is people will find ways to take advantage of loopholes if SE implemented changes that could be so easily abused. At the very least, they're getting better at returning compromised accounts.

ok back sorry was doing stuff on account this is how it went down.

* Got email from SE saying investigation was done and my notary form was received and they want me to contact them.
* Contacted them, couple verifications I was within 10 mins given a new password. Was told to wait to log on.
*While I was putting in my ID and such, the Rep told me I was changed to Asura and my Original name Omnipotent was changed to omglolroflgg.
* She then changed server changed me back to Cerberus NO CHARGE, and I then was able to log on.
* Upon logging on I contacted a GM and easily changed my name back to Omnipotent.
------ Important Notes
* They will NOT do a restore point, they will NOT restore gil/items lost, Only items dropped not sold. Luckily for me I forze my account within the hour so my account was sitll in tact only my gil was gone all and I mean EVERY item still there. I lost about 3M gil.
* Lastly when I logged on and checked my friend list, I noticed a new name on Asura. Name was Evan I PM'd him and said Im coming for you he PMd me back saying RAWR. I contacted GM and they said the account Evan has been flagged and will be investigated, and they said if
I receive any other PM's please forward them to them so I can further prove Evan's Guilt, str8 from the mouth of a GM.

Over all I got Omni back, minimal damage done. I am "pleased" if you can say, hope this clears things up.

Edit: Some other minor things I have come to notice. The bitch reset my guild points, so all 70k leather gone, have to start over for gloves. Also back to the 3M gil lost. They just stole gil on hand to clear things up. I guess I was fortunate.

Nope I cancelled my CC not 5 mins after I was hacked to prevent the charge.

Who the fk adds themself to an account that you stole? That makes ZERO sense. Theres nothing that could come from that. Unless of course he wanted you to contact him, in which case he's planning to steal your shit again. Also a GM would NEVER tell you that someone is "flagged", they CANNOT reveal ANY details about someone else's case. Even if they find that he is guilty, you would never know. And how would you "forward a PM to a GM" ? If people had that ability I'm sure we would spam the hell out of them.

I know you "forze my account within the hour", but if he had enough time to put gil in, then why not any of your items? On top of that, he had enough time to run to YOUR guild and empty 70k of GP? How did he accomplish this? Only way is by buying a GP item that cost that much or spamming a shit ton of crystals in which that would take alot of time. 3rd possibility is running to another guild and changing it, but that would take time too.
