So account was claimed to be frozen, and now SE apparently "lied" about freezing it. And in those 3 days they didn't think to sell, trade, or do anything else with stuff like your genie weskit?

The account was probably frozen right away, and those sales were probably someone else's alt that got deleted or renamed. <_<

Also, it only takes a minute to go to any guild and change to that guild for points, especially if they have all subcrafts at 60 or above whatever the minimum is (18? 28?).

Edit: come to think of it, the FFXIAH listing makes it look like the hacker was using his account to make gil, and probably thought they had the account permanently like others suggested. No reason to take the gear off if you think it's yours now.

So then the account was hacked, and then he called to freeze it a few days later. Memory problems, maybe. Either way, it looks as though the reason the account wasn't stripped was because the hacker thought it was now his.

What exactly is fishy about this ? are you implying that Omni made it all up just to get attention ? or are you saying that he has IGEd all of his gil back ?

I see no mention of Omni holding other players high gil items that are now suddenly gone so it doesnt appear to have been done to steal stuff.
I vaguely remember Jeny having his/her character moved to a different server and being spotted in Kuftal doing the usual RMT stuff whilst still fully equiped (im not 100% if it was just r.e or all)

Well, I can see where the other folks are coming from, they're saying it's rather dumb to hack an account and not strip it right away of all valuable items that can be sold/transferred elsewhere immediately. I mean, that's what I would do, right off.

Yeah, well It really is weird. The thing is I think the kid actually used my account for his own benefit instead of selling the items. When I logged back on the account, I was in Sky in Kirin room with Kirin Captivator as my title. I swear to you that evan is now on my friends list so I believe he took over the account for his benefit. I also had 25 dragon talons and tons of weskit synth stuff on me. Also I didn't have a genie weskit because I sold it to actually fund bone 90-100. Also my cursed caps are all gone exept 1 out of 6 I had. I think he had them on AH when they froze and then transferred me and they got deleted.

--- To answer how long for response on mail notary form, I mailed it monday by regular mail. Got the email Monday of next week.

---- I am an idiot in the aspect of the account freezing. I called SE again last night, I was on hold a very long time. I asked about my original account freezing. They said they did not freeze it when I called because I did not have the PoL registration code which I later found a week later and called them up and verified. They told me over the phone they froze my account, maybe the rep just wanted me to go away idk. That is what happened in that area though.

anyway, congrats omni on getting your account back in any decent form, I'm still scared to death that the RMT that took my account just went drop happy with my hard-to-get rare/ex. it's been 2 months, guess that doesn't fall in the 7 day restore policy... sent my form out friday the 31st of january and the receipt shows they got it monday the 4th at about 2:30. I've called them everyday since then and they can't even confirm they got the form(with all the "email problems" i don't trust them to keep me up to the minute on when they are ready to return my shit). I have a signature on the certified mail notification with some Japanese name on it.

To add a little validity to Omni’s story here is the summed up version of mine.

My account was stolen and I tried to get SE to reset the password but they wouldn’t do it. This was before SE account return policy. I bought a new copy of FFXI created a new character and actually talked to the person who had my account. He told me he was going to kill my family and all kinds of lovely stuff during our talks… So anyways eventually he told me I could buy my account back and gave me his email addy. His email account was from his work and I got his name, address and tons of personal info on him.

I have several lawyers in my family and had one send him a letter on the firm’s letter head to his work, his home and his parent’s home demanding the account back or he would be taken to court. I had the account back the next day.

So when I looked over my account that was out of my hands for almost 4 months at this point all my big ticket items were gone and most of my gil but the person left TONS of good gear and equips on me. He even made a handful of HQ staves with my woodworking that were still there.

The kicker was my account got banned 3 hours later because of the RMT credit card associated with the account. How’s that for a kick in the teeth? Not only that but I had been given over 6 million gil by friends to get restarted and was kicked out just after a friend traded with me. Try explaining that to someone!

So yeah RMT won’t completely strip you all the time. If your account has value they will use it.

Ohh and just for the curious – the person was Chinese but living in New York. I found that odd.

my account was put in a lock "batch" group, the rep told me that he personally could not lock the account and a supervisor has to do it.

my account wasnt really locked until the monday after (i called on a friday) and it gave the guy on it a chance to remove everything even tho he was nice enough to leave me some start up cash and some meh items

so ya when they say we are locking your account expect to wait a day or two at least

Yeah I am in the process now. I was told that I should have had my account back a week ago by the first rep I talked to. Now everytime I call I get "We have no update for you". So while the reps I talk to say there is no reason for me not to get my account back and it's just a matter of time I am not going to believe it until it happens.

So yeah I am just waiting. I did all my paper work and got everything done SE asked me too. I wish they moved a little faster. I mean seriously what can be taking them so long??

hehe, I think the reason he said that, is because it's common knowlege that a majority of RMT are Chinese living in China, working for "RMT Sweatshops", whereas this Chinese guy is from America.

quick question. if you receive a notary form e-mail, does that mean se has completed their investigation? after talking to them i got the e-mail within an hour, which is pretty quick of an "investigation" when i hear people talking about 5-10 days.. this was a while back and since then i haven't had it notarized nor have i gotten another e-mail from them.

edit: lol, i didn't realize this is a huge flame thread, didn't bother reading. but yeah, question still stands if anyone knows, even though i look retarded@@

It can take months after they recieve your notorized form.

It can take months after they recieve your notorized form.

i'm already at 10 days since they SIGNED for my certified mailed notary form... everyday I'm like "maybe today will be the day". everytime I call, "we can't release any status of the investigation, we can't tell you shit, yer just supposed to sit and wait in suspense for an email that may or may NOT get to your spam folder, so stop calling us, and wait for the fucking email, worthless customer!"
