I interrupt them and politely ask them what this is about. They ask me who I was and I informed them I was my wifes husband. They asked me if I had any part in this business and I of course, said No and they go back to my uncle and start questioning him like he's some criminal. My wife turns to me and I ask her in a low tone of voice if they showed her/have a warrant. The cops turn to me and asked if I was a lawyer. (I'm not) and informed me that I should keep any legal advice I have to myself (WTF?!)
They ask for my aunts name, put their business card down and leave. I'm no fucking lawyer but I've watched so much CSI to know you're not suppose to step foot into a place of business and start demanding stuff without a warrant and if you're just conducting an investigation then you don't tell me to shut the fuck up. In the end, they're just looking for someone who worked here before.
I'm thinking of filing a complaint but would like to know If I was wrong by asking for a warrant etc
