At the risk of sounding like a jackass, I doubt Apple is putting time-sensitive breaking screens into their iPods now, in order to substantiate this claim <_>? I think the point was that if the screen was broken when they bought it they wouldn't load songs onto it, thus pretty clearly implying they broke it in their festive enjoyment of their music, then tried to pass it off as an Apple defect.

I'm sorry, I got confused. I didn't realize the actual screen was broken (aka cracked/shattered). Elphaba made it sound like the screen was blank until they replied again about the cleat.

I went to the apple stores around here to find replacements for my Ipod's earphone (I stepped on them and they crushed under my colossal boot), they're freaking $60 ! I like their design of very slim and in the ear without looking bulky but come on >_> Those things can't cost more than 10 dollars to make.

You can get the exact same sized earphones along with similar if not better sound quality for much much less. People pay that price because the Ipod earbuds are a status thing.

Its like surround sound for only you, go watch black hawk down on them and you will want to marry them.(Helicopters sound particularly awesome on these)

They may be a bit pricey but they're the last pair you will ever need
I got a pair for xmas and was like.. yay. Yhen I saw the looked up the price and tried them out and was like YAY!

On the Dollar/Performance scale, Sennheiser > Bose. By a lot.

Buy ipod from apple store, see more expensive headphones, think they are better/should buy because they are licensed by apple. Most people aren't gonna educate themselves, simply because they don't care enough. Its the same with everything else.

Its definitely a status thing. Why do you think the Ipod users swear by them and how good they are? I have some friends who refuse to use anything other than the white earbuds. You can deny it all you want but there is a certain trend called "I-Life" that sees Apple as trendy and cool. For the most part I see this trend everyday I'm on campus at my University. Maybe its just a college thing.

I like these a lot, great sound for a decent price. The cord is a bit weird, not long enough to reach to my pocket so I have to use a splitter, but then the splitter makes it REALLY long and it's heavy in that one spot so it kinda sucks for running. But the sound is really nice.
