    Your take on WoTG

So many people have felt like WoTG has been 'meh' so far and are awaiting the next patch hoping it paves the bumpy road the launch has been, so simply put: ~ What do you want in the expansion and how would you go about it? ~

    Monsters:

Iron fucking Giants: Overdue since they got cut from being in Alzadaal Undersea Ruins. Stick them in the Northlands, in Castle Zvahl, somewhere! Its just not FF without one of these running about.

Deathgaze - Why isnt this badass terrorizing an Airship somewhere creating a new reason to fly the unfriendly skies?

Shinryuu - Possibly a water based HNM? or being saved for the name of the Water-based Wyrm?

I'd rather FGs not run around.

21-24 hour spawn on a random airship flight that lasts what, 5 minutes tops? It'd be like AA , except it may actually drop something good so people could really care about it.

Pixies being unfightable. Some cockmonkey is out here killing them for no other reason than "they drop goodies".

Boy that sure sounds fun...Airship Aery. Riding back and forth for 3 fucking hours with a 1/8(?) chance of even seeing it. Yeah...

Now if there was some kind of question mark on the airship that someone could trade an item to that then started a seperate BC with no specific timelimit on an airship setting, maybe. Gathering for that event would be a fucking pain in the ass, though.

Your post doesn't seem to be about WotG at all, considering there were no airships until the very end, and then that was the only one. Also Seiryu = Shinryuu.

I wouldn't mind seeing AN being used for an event like Salvage and another event like ISNM.

EDIT: There's already an airship BC, probably would just use that.

    Re: Your take on WoTG

First off, what I originally imagined (and maybe it will become) WotG to have a complex storyline that is constantly playing off of the past affecting the present. Much like Chrono Trigger. And at the same time past actions having some kind of effect on actual gameplay elements of the present. So far these aspects have been really weak.

For the mission line, something that falls between CoP and the later AU missions. Only for the love of god, stripped of all the artificial difficulty baggage. Level caps, redundant forced farming, true aggro enemies in cramped dungeons with capricous gimmick themes, none of that thanks.

Nerd fanboy wishes: NPC's from expansions being involved somehow, i.e. Prishe, or Gilgamesh etc. even just as a cameo. Being able to check out Tavnazia during the attack, with Esha'ntarl would've been too damn cool. But I'm realizing they're probably going to do their thing and keep all the stand out points of other expansions separated.

Campaign Ops are decent, I mean I understand they're low level but it's quite boring. Hopefully there will be more interesting higher level Ops later. Maybe a difficult NM fight within the instanced zones that requires 5 or 6 Ops credits to flag.

    Unfounded pipe-dream wish list:
One other thing I was hoping for was a bit more environmental action. For instance the weaponry found throughout most zones, mechanized bows, cannons, turrets, lookouts etc. Wish they were utilized somehow in the actual battles and not just superficial. When a battle starts the NPCs arming the cannons in battalia actually despawn lol. Semantical but oh well.

A zone or zones that are sort of "frozen" in time, so that they are always set to one of the days of the week when you are within it. Maybe put mobs there that would cater to SMN, BLM, and SCH parties. The crap latent items that require an elemental day might even obtain a usage.

    Re: Your take on WoTG

We have small scale skirmishes in Campaign, I think we should have some more besieged-style battles (though possibly with less people / separated into more than one zone)?

The obvious choice for this would be the battle of Tavnazia, which I can't believe is being excluded! We're getting the massive siege towers in an upcoming update so there's no reason there couldn't be a full scale battle of Tavnazia... it would be beyond epic. Maybe have some form of instanced "army battles"? Like a Dynamis/Besieged crossover thing, where you have to defend Tavnazia or some other strategic stronghold. That would be really awesome...

And yes, I agree that Iron Giants need to be included... maybe in that Atomos zone? Castle Zvahl would be good too.

Talking about the past being stuck in one segment of time, I'd like there to be a series of missions (maybe similar to assaults) where you actually travel to a certain key event in time and participate in whatever battle is occuring there. And yes, ballistae etc should be usable; make it more strategic!

EDIT: Also, I've been thinking about the possibility of a Deathgaze enemy for a while; a pity the airship times would mean an incredibly small battle. Perhaps the airship would stop where it was going until everyone on the upper deck was dead? Potential annoyance there but meh =/ don't know how they'd do that one, I'd rather it more random than instanced.

Wish granted. All zones are permanently locked to Earthday.

    Re: Your take on WoTG

Honestly, I want another CoP type storyline. Going through CoP was probably some of the most fun I've had in this game. And I'm not talking about CoP after the nerfs, I mean CoP where if you've completed it it actually means you wanted to complete it. It felt like a great accomplishment having sea until they nerfed it all. I want another type of storyline like that that's fairly difficult that you can feel a large sense of accomplishment from after finishing it.

I didn't expect anything at all and the expansion was not a let down for me. I might be the only one not to whine but I love everything about the expansion so far. Of course it could be better but that's what the updates are for.
