friend o mine told me he just watched a bunch o JPs killing AV on Seraph.. it looked like all they needed to do was spam 2hrs when he 2hred and they seemed like they were getting their 2hrs back.. lotsa deaths but was quite a zergfest.. they won too.. i think..

can't hold to any proof of this, but honestly the best way to figure out what the video is telling us is to go test it out. My LS has it on the planner already, i think :D

It's fairly easy to determine that it doesn't drop 2HR's from people on the hate list. We had no DRG last time we fought it, still summoned wynavs.

Just a thought. Maybe we are over-analyzing this.

Maybe the 2 hour spam is telling us to use our 2-hours.

Perhaps AV can use any 2-hour of a person on his hate list if there 2 hour is ready to use.

Yeah thats what I think. And if AV uses a 2hr then that means somebodies it up and ready.

He could also potentially reset people's 2hrs during the duration of the fight, in order to unlock his own. Which is why later in the video only a few people use 2hr after AVs.

As much as I want to say just shut up about the lolgear/rdmmelee comments, we really have very little else to talk about until people actually test things. And for those of us without HNM shells, our contribution either way is going to be about nil. So on that note, excuse me while I bust out my Earth Staff.

On the other hand, I'll attempt to make this contribution: It's obvious that not everyone in that alliance knew what they were doing (see Yokodama SAM), so don't look too much into why certain 2hr's were used when. Testing stuff ourselves is what's going to bring answers to this, not over-analyzing what these chickens with their heads cut off did.

but if true, it might actually make AV really easy to zerg.. like, if you could just keep in a bunch of jobs that you need to make sure the 2HRs he use are in check, like WHM, RDM, BLM, DRG.. then fill up the rest with jobs that you wanna kill him with. I'd imagine you could do him semi-zerg style.. like since you could probably repeatedly have a BRD SV buff and a bunch of melee DDs do their stuff. I'm told that AVs def and all is like much higher than your usual HNM, but then again if you can spam 2hrs, it kinda makes sense why he's this difficult.. and it would seem like the more you spam 2hrs for fun or for killing him, the faster it is to kill him..

It would seem like SE really wanted AV to be a huge 2hr fest (which is probably loads of fun, i might add)

based on what we can see.. and what we know of AV from past experiences..
I'm of the opinion that AV starts off with the ability to use all 15 old 2HRs.. and each time he does a 2hr, it opens a window for players in the PT to use their 2hrs to basically cockblock from using even more 2HRs. And if done correctly, this actually gives them back their 2HR abilities.. because AV will still be able to use them again later, but I'm guessing he always starts with something more tame.. (like, not Bene) otherwise he can't really be killed either way.

In other words, the 2HRs that players use right after he 2HRs (wonder why people still call him 2HRing when its definitely shorter than that) are there to determine what he CANNOT use, but not limit what he can use... because we all know he can use all 15 old 2HRs regardless of who's in the party against him, or who has hate...

Atm, I think we only have 2 ways to reset 2 HRs. One is the feather from the mountain climbing quest, the other one is a COR. Due to the fact, there was no COR when AV was released I don't think COR is needed. Maybe AV has something like 2 HR reset for people in alliance if an 2HR is successfully blocked (needs testing) or SE just cheated, lol.

This was released as a "hint" from SE. Perhaps the spam of 2hrs is meant to confuse us. Indeed the answer is in the video, we just need to pin-point where. With the exception of the one Hndred Fists in the French version, each other 2hr corresponds to a player using his/her 2hr. Perhaps a mesh of 2hrs is meant to throw us, and you only need 1 to lock that 2hr from firing off. If the "AV readies Chainspell" is a glitch, SE would have edited it out, I'm fairly certain of that. Why let it be shown and known otherwise... If there is a way to make it trigger the "readies" chat log for every JA 2hr, ...

from what i've read AV seems to be able to do any of a certain number of 2h's in the first 20%, and anyone with a corresponding 2h is blowing it the instant they see the animation, not waiting for the chat log to see which one it was that actually went off.

I do believe that there is a trick to get AV to reset your 2HR's, whether its from matching his or just everybody using 2HR right after he does, there has got to be a way other than COR's or cheating.

I wasn't there, but I do trust what my friend says he sees so I'm presenting what he said, but have already told people to take it with a pinch of salt. Nothing anyone says here can be backed up until people start killing the damn mob, so its not out of place in any way.

It seems there are two camps of people... one group believes that the 2-hours were not reset by AV, and another group believes they were. I believe this argument doesn't really matter, the only important question is what effect a PC using it's two-hour has on AV. No need to make this a debate about continuity... because it's irrelevant.

I am hoping that using a two hour ability while AV has his two hour ability active either:
A) Stops AV from using that ability again later in the fight
B) Makes jokers stop posting in this thread about RDMs and Staves.

Just thinking over the possibilities seeing variations of 2 hours going off along with duplicates as well made me wonder something.

What if upon him using his 2 hour ANY 2 hour used at that point in time would cause him to not be able to use that 2 hour that many times.

You see like 3 Benediction’s going off and multiple Manafont’s going off as well. Maybe this means for instance he can “attempt” to use Benediction but will not be able to use it for 3 attempts. This could be a reason you see so many players using 2 hour abilities even though maybe they had locked some earlier in the fight.

Might explain why there are multiple Bene’s and Manafont’s going off during the fight from the Dev team.

Doesn't AV have the DRG 2-hour natively? How could it be proof that he doesn't sap PC's 2-hours merely based on AV calling wynavs with no DRG being in the alliance?
