This isn't really hard to test:

Trial 1: Have someone just watching for AV 2hour. When AV 2hours, this man 2hours. This is to test whether a random 2hour does anything.

Trial 2: Have 6+ people 2hour when AV does and hope one of them corresponds to what AV did...

It's nice to know there is a window of ~6 seconds between manafont and comet/meteor though, easily enough time to cockblock

well, we were gonna try the 2 hr when it 2 hr's thing; however, didn't have the right jobs in alliance, and started prematurely. i'm not even 100% sure what we're supposed to do, everyone 2 hr the second it 2 hrs? certain jobs 2 hr? just the job of the 2 hr? anyway, gonna raise up and see what we can do lol.. but i didn't read this whole thread and the video wasn't very clear on what to do

edit: like i said, didn't have a blm in alliance for when it did manafont, etc. for whatever reason, i was gonna chainspell when it did but it didn't, gonna redo parties and see what we can do <_< lol

the last time my shell fought AV(fought of course being a loose term), we had five decked out kclub drks, got wynavs away, lined our aegis pld up, timed it perfectly, and the second all 5 drks popped souleater/bw, AV used invincible. it was like there was a GM playing AV going 'lulz' on the other side of the game.

I'm thinking as long as Manafont, Mijin Gakure or Benediction aren't first in the order of 2HR's (Which they shouldn't be), you can rise up and overcome.

When we held AV up 2 weeks ago we let him deaggro and go back to his exit spot, and a BLM ran up and cast Burst 2 on him and he immediately Benedictioned from 99% so I'm not so sure this linked 2hr sets theory holds much water.

Perhaps it exhausted the previous 2HR's and you guys wiped before it had a chance to use the last 2HR in its queue which was Benediction

About the two-hours:

Possibly AV when popped/spawned has access to 1 two hour. After it uses that about 10 seconds (random guess on the time interval) later it either a. checks the attacking allainces players available two hours, or b. checks the immediate surrounding area for the players with two hours that are available. If some players two hour is available then AV is allowed to use another two hour. If no two hours are available (hence why everyone spams them once he uses one), then AV does not have access to any two hours.

If it works like this there is obviously a question as to whether when he check for available two hours, is he only granted the specific two hours that are available (players haven't used) or does he just get to use any two hour again (it resets his two hour timer if someone has an un-used two hour)?

I thought the problem with AV is even after getting rid of his two hours he can still nuke the fuck outta you with Aeroga, etc.?

If you think about it, AV only uses call wyvern and not spirit surge. This basically gives DRG 2 options to counter AV's 2hrs. Whether this is a response on SE's part about the "loldrg" mentality that went on for so long "you guys wanna laugh at one of our jobs? well here ya go, DRG is now one of the most beneficial jobs to have for the strongest mob in the game!" is yet to be seen.

Before everyone else gets to ya, I'll tell ya nicely that AV is a mob, there are no drg mobs in this game that use spirit surge, they only use call wyvern as their 2hr

NM drg that have been created post Spirit Surge patch all use Spirit Surge, just do a mamool besieged to see this.

Also, all DRG mobs made post Spirit Surge patch have a pet following them constantly that they summoned, wheras pre-SS drg mobs do not.

Actually, that's exactly the situation that the SE video portrays. The "cameratarus" were BLM and WHM I think. It's gotta be in the alliance that has hate or AV's hatelist then.

to add to this, worst case scenario is, if you keep getting unlucky with the right 2hour not firing off, have 6 people change to drg that have 2hour. Burn down the pets, and then after 5 minutes or so (usually takes about 8 min to re-call wyvern irrc) have 1 of those drg 2hour when they see a 2hour. One of those 6 will fire off when his call wyvern does.
