Probably won't work but try using a 2H with a macro that is on its cooldown right when he uses one (try it when the one he uses has a duration like Chainspell or Meikyo, not an instant 2H like Call Wyvern or EES).

No, its not even sent to the server if you try to use an ability not on cooldown.

You don't lock everything, I'll post what we intend to try tomorrow. In the video you see three instances of clearly separate fights where the 4 2hours that prove most deadly are spammed. Those being Benediction, Soul Voice, Chainspell and Manafont. Clearly these post the most threat and are the ones focused on. So they show the three clips of those 2hours being removed or blocked.

The theory is then, when you match with at least one person using the 2hour that AV uses it appears that NONE of the above four mentioned are used. It does however use other 2hours. With one of the actions made in the video of the dev team already verified by us, there is no reason to believe that this is also not true. We'll upload a video shortly of us attempting to fight it just shortly after burning every 2hour in the alliance but missing perfect dodge and nothing happening.

You lock these and deal with the rest and its not a hard fight, at least not with us taking it to 97% using tier 1-3 nukes.

To add to your theory, if you watch the French or German versions, you can see that in the set that (most) everyone in the alliance uses their 2HR, the Domaru SAM (Dreamrainbow I think) dies right before AV uses his 2hr (Astral Flow, in this case). So, in their case, it's not possible everyone in the alliance could've 2 houred, as one person was dead. Maybe the condition is that everyone alive does. I don't know.

but again about my absorbing of 2hr theories or something along the line...

Elmaulle is the pld/nin elvaan girl, on iceday in the video you see her pop invincible, 6:51ish on lightningsday she does it again but on the second time right when AV casts w/e brd spell you see her get some absorb animation. and i know a pld/nin has no type of absorb spell

also i strongly believe the use of a yagudo drink in an alliance with a gjallarhorn bard is key to winning, along with the taru panics and whm wearing goliard slops... that is all.

also if that was noted about the absorb animation i apologize, but don't expect me to read 26 pages of possible bullshit i don't have sea so i can't test this shit but i wish i could, i wouldn't go to work for a few days to figure this out, just to do it.

Edit: also have to note that although SE and this game can be a huge douchebag to me and the player basis they are NOT going to make anyone fight a mob for nearly 8 hours of the day, please don't even post that possibility.

personally i thinkk the rdm sleeping and bind etc. is for a enmity generater incase the plds go down the rdm nins can stall till plds get back up. coz av is immune to sleep as people have said. also the rdm chainspell utsusemi was kinda of interesting too.

The more I read and the more I think about it the only thing I can come up with is more more frustration towards SE... to of had a mob that no group could scratch and to give confusing clues that players simply over analyzed to the point of exhaustion was bad enough, but I could somewhat understand that they wanted us to figure it out for ourselves. When they announced that they were going to release a video of the development team taking it down I'm thinking to myself, "Alright, finally we will have some factual evidence to go on." The fact that they weren't ready with it at fanfest was pretty blah, but as long as the video lived up to everyones expectations and allowed players to finally have the insight to take down AV was enough to get past the delay. However, while watching the video today my jaw was wide open. Not because I couldn't believe how simple the still non-existent strategy was, but simply because that after all the hype that SE caused by announcing that they would do the video in the first place they come to us with possible the shittiest video I have ever seen. Not only did it leave us with more questions then it answered... oh my bad it really didn't answer a damn thing imho... but my god SE is a reputable company and honest to god with no experience what so ever I feel as though I could of throw together a more professional looking video. Meh /rant off. Going to bed at this point and I really can not wait to see where this thread has gone by morning...

One of the linkshells that fought AV .. their paladin said he took 400 dmg meteor w/ fealty up.. and he said he knows that makes no sense.. but they also tried the 2 hour thing if im not mistaken, so perhaps your idea of the 2 hours lowering his stats is more accurate.. if we could reduce meteor dmg to 400.. then.. ok.. But I need to ask that paladin.. were you the only one taking 400? Were the others still taking 2000+ dmg?

About the blm/whm being camera toons.. We never got an angle from them, so kinda weird.. It's possible.. would explain why they dont take damage, they could have made them perma invincible.. I haven't fought AV in a while but I was pretty sure his aoe's hit people out of pt? been too frigging long. I think what somebody said earlier was the best.. just go in and try and replicate their moves w/o expecting anything.. just be open to what happens.. not "zomg it fucking 2 houred again i quit" attitude.

In their video, AV 2 houred at death.. right before it.. so you cannot stop the animations from happening, period, get over it.. the only thing (as i mentioned in an earlier post) was that MAYBE he does the animations and doesn't get the benefits.. :shrug:.. I can't wait to test this myself.
