Anyway...in reply to people thinking something happens at 0:00 that's so special, guess what. You're wrong. It's the only way they can express the fact that you need to use the correct element related to the day without using words. Showing the change in day, showing that it's a new day, and showing nukes related to that day being suddenly used shows that's what they're trying to get through to us. Hell the fact that the one taru is still casting Blizzard also shows thats all they're trying to tell us.

SE wouldn't make you rely on the change in a day for something to happen, it's the stupidest theory I've heard so far. (ok you tie with Linktri)

In the first part of the video where 2 hours are spammed, Hina uses Soul Voice to match AV's Soul Voice. Hina was then able to use Soul Voice 2 more times when AV 2 houred. Hina is the only one that I saw to use their 2 hour 3 times.

Hey I take offense to the suggestion about using no WSes. I think Demo's video pretty much proves that either there's a huge coincidental link between the two, or that indeed WSes do trigger certain offensive 2hours from AV. Obviously something that will need to be further tested, (no, I don't play FFXI anymore, but Im recommending it to old members on my server who have 5 JoL pops) but at the moment I think it's a new, valid strat to lower his offensive output.

if we ever solve the riddle, i'll be either right or wrong. but i don't think they'd release the video without showing us how to defeat it rather than just stop its regen, and after looking at it several times it seems to me the day changeover is the crux.

how is the day change making a difference stupider than having timed NM spawns? SE will make you wait 8-24 hours for a NM to pop but won't make you 'hold' their baddest mob for a max of one hour to do something to it that makes it defeatable?


anyway, you can call people stupid once they're proved wrong, go ahead - but you don't know the answer either nor do you even play FFXI apparently, so your opinion is no more valid than anyone else's. we're discussing the vid here afaik, not insulting ppl (well, that was the idea anyway). :nikkei:

I have a question
Has anyone taken note of the next 2 hour after you use 2 hours en mass?

Because here is my thought as to why AV does the same hour twice.

*AV uses 2 hour*
and let's say a 10 sec window is opened
and player 2 hours used in that 10 sec are locked for the next round of two hour only.
so let's say bene, mana, and invinc are used

So now AV uses another 2 hour
has any one seen (as per this example) bene, mana, or invinc used here?
and let's say this time we use Call, EES, and SV in the window

Now AV uses a 3rd 2 hour but this time only Call, EES, and SV are "Locked"
so there for Bene, Mana, and Invinc are up for grabs again.

so by this theory we would have to use ALL of the 2 hours at once after an AV two hour to fully lock him

if anyone has seen a counter example just say as it's easily enough discredited.

It's... possible, but I'd have to go through Demo's videos again to see if there is a counter.

Using SE videos only, this holds for these clips:

3. French video, clip III. Iceday 16:1x (AV Hundred Fists (Cent poings))
4. German video, clip IV and Japanese video, clip IV. Iceday 16:4x (AV Meikyo Shisui)

Meikyo Shisui was not used after Hundred Fists.

However, in this case

6. English video, clip III and French video, clip IV. Lightningsday 5x. (AV Chainspell (Chaîne de sorts)).
7. English video, clip II. Lightningsday 06x. (PLD Invincible, then AV Soul Voice - most likely just slight chat log lag.)

Hinu or someone uses Soul Voice after Chainspell. However, #6 was @5:0x, etc, and #7 @6:4x, so there easily could have also been another 2 hr used in between these two. (See previous example, where 2hrs were used within 30 game minutes of each other.)


Also, in every single 2hr usage clip, Manafont was used - it actually looks to be the only 2 hr used every single time. If Meteor is only available with Manafont and this theory has merit.. that could explain why they don't seem to have a massive wipe.

JoL Windsday to Iceday. Defeated on Iceday. AV pops on Iceday.

1. English video, clip IV is chronologically FIRST. Iceday 12x (AV Call Wyvern)
2. German video, clip III and Japanese video, clip II is next. Iceday 14x (AV Soul Voice (Seelenstimme))
3. French video, clip III. Iceday 16:1x (AV Hundred Fists (Cent poings))
4. German video, clip IV and Japanese video, clip IV. Iceday 16:4x (AV Meikyo Shisui)
5. All videos, clip I. Iceday 23x --> Lightningsday 00x (Thunder casts, PLD using Invincible, no AV response.)
I think the lower Thunder casts are just for lower damage/TP, honestly, while working to break Regen.
6. English video, clip III and French video, clip IV. Lightningsday 5x. (AV Chainspell (Chaîne de sorts)).

Did we seriously have to head in that direction? Based on the logs available, I showed a clear pattern. The theory isn't mine. Someone else stated the theory. Basically, I took their idea and looked for information to support it. Then after that is done, I can perhaps modify the theory based on the outcome of the pattern analysis.

The pattern is clear, with the exception of one PLD possibly fucking up. There are always two 2hr elements spammed within the window shown in the chat log. I'm not saying that this is the solution. I'm saying it's possible and provided the raw data so that others can also piggyback and develop parallel theories. If we are now clear, why don't you shut your ignorant fucking trap, ok?

I don't think meleeing is completely out. See also the staff flailing in the video.
