And if you use all 15 2 hours, you lock them all, hence the bracelets appearing and you can finish him off? Maybe? It makes sense looking at the whole Jailer storyline, locking away all the abilities that other Jailers and Ix'Mobs have by matching them in order to weaken him completely. Like a test of true skill or some other cliche bullshit.

To everyone mentioning them using their 2 hours over and over...

after watching it again, i think that the people using 2 hours more than once in a short period of time is nothing more than SE showing us the importance of using a corresponding 2 hour when AV pops a 2 hour, most likely (my guess) scenario is to pop the equal 2 hour to what he uses, and it will possibly keep him out of bracelet form and/or weaken or completely nullify the 2 hour he just used

maybe, maybe not.. dunno, that's my guess. i think the people using 2 hours more than once was just so they could repeatedly show you that you're supposed to try and 2 hour when he does. it probably doesn't reset your 2 hour, it was most likely the only way for them to repeatedly show you what to do multiple times in a single fight, as they probably didnt have 36-40 characters to bring to the fight to swap in/out and 2 hour, this was the easiest method for them to display the tactics used, i.e. haxoring the timer on 2hour making it repeatable simply for the video's educational purpose

I think its more simple than what people are thinking, im going to assume that ANYONE with any ENMITY on AV must have their two hours down(Wether it be activating before you have enmity, or after) and that alone would stop him from two houring and that they are just repeating the fight showing the use of two hours for emphasis. I mean come on... look at how simple Goblin Drink and JoL ended up being before people figured it out.

thought of that too and would make sense but the only problem was not everyone used their 2hrs. true there could be people in the alliance without hate i think but would seem rather unlikely.

This may have been posted already but I'm going to say it anyways. This video is not so much about fair gameplay but more of showcasing hints.

The first hint, breaking the regen, was showcased in the first 2:30~ of the video. Ru'Phaubos were shown being killed repeatedly. This was followed by the camera zooming in to the clock when the day changed to Thundersday at which point multiple Thunder spells were cast on AV. This seems to reinforce what SE has officially stated and what my linkshell has painstakingly tested, AV's regen can be broken by killing many Ru'Phaubos during JoL and then nuking AV with the elemental that corresponds to the current Vana'diel day.

The second hint, possibly locking the two hours, is showcased in the remaining portion of the video. Whenever AV uses a two hour, many other players are shown activating their own two hour. What is obvious from the video is that for every 2 hour ability AV uses, the same 2 hour ability is always used from a member within the alliance. I don't know the exact significance, although it does seem very significant.

As for multiple uses of two hour abilities from the same players. Well, once again, it's meant to showcase hints. I'm guessing they cheated so that making the video would be easier(the PLD is spamming Invincible to stay alive without much trouble).

The thf uses flee cause he's kiting one/multiple wynavs.

Yeah, if you watch carefully during one of the 2 hour spams, when AV uses Call Wyvern a RDM/THF uses Diaga on the wynavs and immedately hits flee.

oh yeah, forgot to mention something.

when i was still on quetzalcoatl supposedly some rumor occured that while fighting AV a member of some linkshell who was THF at the time using justice sword "drained" AV's something-or-other and was unable to either use meteor or sam 2hr. it was never confirmed to my knowledge as there was no screenshot and the person who supposedly did it was the only one to get the message. might have been possible that they accidentally used their 2hr at some point and caused this, but again I don't have much information on the event.

also a tip of my rdm hat to the taru rdm/thf pulling away those wynav's, made me lol.

and to the posts of being able to reset your 2hr just for the videos sake i wouldn't think they would do that imo. just because if they're going to show you the strategy on how to beat him it would be kind of ridiculous to be giving yourself a severe advantage over the player basis by reseting your own 2hrs.

As more evidence against the "use the 2H he used to halt it" idea, in the german video at 3:38/3:39 he Meikyo Suishis and immediately uses Medusa Javelin (Medusa Javelin actually displays in the log first), the SAM, Dreamrainbow, then uses it along with a number of other players' 2Hs, and 6 seconds later at 3:45 as the scene fades to black you can see in the log he is readying Medusa Javelin again, so Meikyo Suishi wasn't nerfed.

Having killed AV twice before they Ninja patched him, we always dragged him and locked him with the Footprints bug... Why?

Honestly, has no-one else noticed that during JoL or AV, they fight it where JoL/AV pops, yet the three roaming Aerns are never up?

That is definitely true, using a corresponding two hour didn't appear to have an affect on the current state of AV. However, what you don't ever see is AV using that same two hour again.

The virtue weapons aren't used in the vid, they're tested endlessly, lets not focus on them.

I didn't notice that the Rdm used flee til I went back and watched later, thats pretty funny.


Doesn't look like it stops the ability, just keeps him from spamming it.

in the french version, 100 fists was used. No corresponding 2h was used.
