The AV Videos: READ THE -OP- AND THREAD BEFORE POSTING!

I highly doubt add effects trigger anything, considering they were always meleeing with Earth Staff, which has add effect Stone damage.

It's possible they were not using Hauteclair because the weapon is ToAU, and they were trying to stick with CoP or before only. The other idea (like I mentioned before) is that you rarely see melee damage except at the end, or while a 2hour is active. I would guess there is a reason for that.


If my previous theory is true (that he can only use 2hours of people/mobs in the area), then the best bet would be to use all CoP/ToAU jobs. then he can only use Call Wynav and whatever it gets from the mobs close to it.

Check 3:11 in the english video. It might just be a coincidence, but it damn well looks like it triggered it.

There are no linkshells on Kujata as far as I know doing this tonight. Demo was unable to tonight. Our next will be over the weekend most likely and popped early to play around with it.

Absolute Virtue itself contains two different entities, what it does and what you force it to do.

Under my assumption: It's random use of 2hr abilities can be locked, making it easier to control, but what you force it to do through using Job Abilities, incorrect element nuking, etc. cannot, thus creating the impression that you haven't locked it to begin with if you are "incorrectly fighting it".

I can't really say anything more about it; really not developed. It fits what's known so far, unless I missed something.

Is it possible there's more of a significance to the fact that Ru'phuabo's are the only pet summoned by JoL out of the three that starts with "Ru'" (the others starting with Qn') or the fact the JoL only summons a few Qn' type pets ( I think 9 of each in total?) before he returns to summoning Ru'phuabo's only. Perhaps SE only wanted to show them reducing AV's regen by showing nearly 2 minutes of straight jailer of love feed (nearly half the video). For some reason though, I have a feeling there's more to it, that something about killing JoL's pets is a prerequisite for some sort exploitable weakness in Absolute Virtue. I could even say this is more thna a feeling, since SE has always said that the players need to pay more attention to the mobs [around] Absolute Virtue. I believe they even said this after they let usin on the regen-slowing side effect of killing JoL's pets.

Um, not all LSes have that many members that they can get that many people together on a Wednesday night to do a relatively thrown together fight. I know we had a JP LS on Odin try it as well, but I know no details of their fight. Another LS on Odin, the one that currently holds the only sash on our server, is trying tomorrow I believe.

My LS is pretty small and it's hard for us to do a lot of testing on theories like this... a) we're small and b) we're principally JP and our available times to get enough people are limited; and c) sometimes the language issue can make it hard for us to really be able to clearly do things like this where we have variables we need to control. We usually wait for more documentation and figuring things out and then we try to further hone strategies.

But when we do go, we have 20 JOL sets hanging around, so... /shrug

i agree, what i think is that SE isn't going to be like, spam 2 hour and lock them to win the game.
What they are probably doing is showing us how to make killing it easier, the 2 sides are
"OMG I ARE 2 HOURS YOUR FACE AND MY REGEN > YOU" etc
and other side is," wow, i cant rape you that bad now, so ill sit here and still give you a hard time but now you have a chance beat me."
you do X JA or X spells or bring X jobs then AV is more chill and killable.
you dont do X JA or X spells or w/e the hell SE programed it to do, it rapes you.

i know this is all rehashed but i see too many people disappointed because now they can't autokill AV after watching video.
