Running 360 through VGA cable - how do I get sound?

Got my 360 connected up to my monitor via the VGA thing, and I'm running an optical cable from the VGA cable (on the bit that plugs into the 360) through to my computers onboard sound, but I'm getting no sound from my speaker system connected to my PC (360 can't connect to it).

Any clues or programs that can fix this? Q_Q

and put it on the line in (blue) of your sound card.

Ta muchly..but now I've run into another problem Q_Q

I can access the internet from my xbox because earlier it asked me to download an update to run Assassins Creed and that worked, but when I try to connect to live it prompts to do an update and doesn't work, just says to try again later.

Err, edit: Now it's working fine, bloody microsoft.
