No, it has nothing to do with the healer, lol.
You're going to have HP fluctuating all over the bar when you are DRG/WAR in a merit party.
I guess if you wanna be constantly taking Pecking Flurry for loads of damage /WAR is the optimal sub job.

Last LS pt I didn't take many pecking flurry's, I managed my tp and ja's to avoid it. The few times I did take it the healer had me topped off right away. I can see how it would be a problem though. I still think it is situational, there is no clear winner.Originally Posted by Seditedi
Managing TP vs blowing TP @100% is the difference between /War and /Sam.
Nevermind that /Sam you're TPing a good deal faster, especially if you can swing a 6 hit, which some higher delay polearms and the right gear can pull off.
I'd definitely say that Hasso+Store TP+Meditate > Souleater subbed, just because I wouldn't use /Drk on War except for a max epeen shot stacking LE+SR+highest Str onto my normal War buffs.
Merit parties this day in age are about causing as much damage as fast as you can, not holding back specifically so you don't waste MP. Sub SAM if you have a 2-handed weapon and sub NIN if you have a one-handed weapon(s). Avoiding the damage entirely, regardless of hate by the use of Job Abilities/Ninjutsu while blowing your TP as fast and as often as possible is better for EXP than sacrificing damage just to manage hate in a burn pt. Your increased attack as WAR won't outweigh the time/TP wasted on holding back so you don't eat all 6 hits from Pecking Flurry. The same reason it's not worth managing hate while eating food on birds, the damage increase from the food won't outweigh the dmg you avoid doing to not have your morsels snatched.
So, that out of the way... HNM zerging with Dragoon since they are there for Angon anyways. How to maximize DRG dmg on HNM in 30~60 seconds. Continue.

Nothing pisses me off more when I'm healing a merit pt than idiot melees that don't WS at 100% and then end up losing the chain as a result.
I don't have a problem waiting a second to avoid the tp move, and to the best of my knowledge it has never caused a loss of chain.Originally Posted by Seditedi
Get a 6 hit with DRG/SAM, use Hasso when you can; Seigan+Third Eye when you pull hate.
Parse yourself like this, WSing at 100% TP.
I guarantee your parses will improve by doing that.
Use Hasso when Seigan timer is cooled down, and if you really wanna be anal about your MP consumption do this.
Third Eye > Hasso > WS > Seigan > Third Eye, ftw.
Alternatively, save Hasso for feather tickle/flash/puk shadows/whiffs, to build TP back up again when meditate is down.
Really though, 6 hit+Seigan is enough reason to go /Sam.

Another thing about sitting on tp is you can get hit with Feather Tickle and lose the tp.
Oh you were all talking about Colibri? I was talking about more potent mobs like at Mamool >.>; Just too bad Firespit can't be anticipated. At least Fang Rush can!
I was talking in general, DRG/WAR is retarded for a TP burn merit party.Originally Posted by Jaybar
