It's not open up to NAs yet until March, even if you imported the game. The only thing you can access is spectator mode.

it's only the random-wifi battling that blocks non-japanese (or w/e kind of security they use to block)
Honestly, while it probably bothers you that you can't just try it once, you're not missing out on much. Random Wifi battles are restrictive in that only time battles are an option, and I've never ever heard of a person that actually likes playing on time.
That's kinda lame <_<; fking hate time...Originally Posted by Zetah
I like playing online here and it's pretty fluid for the most part, despite the "time mode" restriction. I'd feel pretty annoyed if I was doing a 5 stock battle and either one of my partners or myself lost their connection as I was going in for the kill.Originally Posted by Zarath
Typically I'll come home and boot up smash, push a character through single or all-star or something else, then online battle for about a half-hour. It's good times when three other players stick around for awhile and don't run off because they win or lose too much. I've had it for two weeks now and I still have tons of shit to do when I'm not playing online brawls.
I can already see Time mode only when playing random ppl online is going to be frustrating as hell. You know there will be the assholes who kill you a few times then run away for the remainder of the battle (or tries to, at least).
Saw Minus the bear live, pretty sure they were all high out of their minds, lmfao. Still a good show and they sounded great live compared to some other bands who are absolutely shitty live.
JMunin do you live in Japan or is there a way to just find random people to play with online? The way you mentioned it, it seems after a match people are still connected and choose to stick around? Or does that only happen when playing with friends?
I live in Japan and I just do it with randoms. You start up a brawl or a room, choose your character, can select the items and or stage. Then you're taken to the waiting room where you can play with the sandbag for however long it takes for you to find some other people to play with. Sometimes you find people right away, other times you're waiting for awhile.
Let's say I start a room. I'm sitting in the waiting room until a second person pops up at the bottom of my screen. After that, a countdown starts of about 60-70 seconds. If other players aren't found within that time frame, the match will begin. If a third person were to appear, the timer gets bumped up again slightly. If a fourth person comes in, obviously everyone's ready and the match will begin forthwith.
If someone were to disconnect, from the times its happened to me, the match ends. If its you who disconnected, you're usually booted back to the main menu screen, if another person, I think you and the remaining players will go back to the character select screen and can continue on.
