    Re: The Story Continues... (02/14/2008)

i thought bastok's story had the most potential actually but meh ;-/

Probably past areas will be parlborough/giddeus/fortghlesba (?) and davoi/ostroja/beudeux, but not walk of echos/glacier/xarcabard. No one in those quests would have reason to go further north yet, zeid and volker still messing about in the mines.

    Other update things:
    a) 1 mini-series of new quests,
    b) 1 batch of quick missions,
    c) AF for new jobs, merits for new jobs? (maybe), scholar gets blink and stoneskin natively via their respective spells or new ones with pretty animations, scholars put max merits into luminohelix and go to town on us all.
    d) job adjustments for a few jobs (i doubt all?, pld gets reflect, blm gets sidelined),
    e) nerfs to einherjar to make it do-able for averageskilled-smaller groups,
    f) additional mission choice for nyzul isle with new relic stuff,
    g) new ranks and allied note items that are actually half decent but at the best situational for the majority of levelled and equipped players.
    h) campaign and campaignOP adjustments, crystal fist 4 and 5 with rewards of 400 and 500 xp per tag :D

People shouldnt expect too much, or anything mind blowing, just be realistic. Update will only be win if you are a dancer or scholar, but moreso if you are a scholar because now your helices will have more love.

not to burst anyone's bubble but Jeuno is not in the WotG area rom dats, unless its identical to the current day one physically (which it could very well be..) and they use the OLD jeuno area rom..

as for commanding officer Klara.. wow she looks pretty cool

i was actually reminded more of this tho..

Why can't we just bring back all the published materials about the results of the war to the leaders/strategists?

Seems a lot easier and a helluva lot less dangerous. :bagel:

lol sonoma, i didnt mean it to come across like that >.< as a personal adaptation lol. Bad choice of wording on my part. I didnt apply filter to just still screenshots anyway, and my own additions added 50% running time to chapter 1 so... >.>

History's already changed thanks to us being there, plus one beastman spy = Confederation gets a nice, neatly wrapped present of all of their weak spots + what Allies did to exploit it.

Knowledge of the future is a double-edged sword- Eric Flint and company do a sweet sci-fi time-travel series that points out this. Pre-Cromwell overturning the monarchy, England gets it's hand on some 1990's-era history books and the revolution never happens as the King makes sure the offending parties get the Tower or the axe in advance.

Or in our case, the Shadow Lord finds out who's the most dangerous to come on the Allied side and they get the Tonberry treatment. Karuha-Baruha, all alone down there in the Canal, dead before he gets to summon Fenrir Prime. /wave Windurst.

Definitely looks like three of the beastmen strongholds are opening up:
La Vaule, Beadeaux and Castle Oztroja.

This shot with Elvira though, it looks like Palborough. Maybe we'll also get Giddeus and Ghelsba?
A full helping of Beastmen Strongholds?

Ruhotz Silvermines, Palborough is more orangey-red. Nit-picking, yes, but I am willing to bet anything it is Ruhotz

In that case, it's an easy fix! Just have Cait Sith send us back in time to stop ourselves from giving the materials over.

And if that doesn't work, then we'd just have to stop ourselves from stopping ourselves.

And if that doesn't work... then we can just go back in time and buy out the Tonberries before the SL does. Then we can have them assassinate the Beastmen spies that would have otherwise found out about the texts from the future. Problem solved.

There is *NOTHING* complicated about this plan of action!

They better add more than 10 missions/quests this time D:
So i guess The shadowlord storyline might start soon? hopefully in this update

tbh I'm not expecting much in this update... i just wonder what changes they will make to campaign if there will be any, Or maybe those job adjusments, Or the size of those turret things

oh... and why all the bastok hating? i mean WotG hasnt really started yet and someones already dead so we win there <.< And it is zeid and volker tiem nao!

    PIME TARADOX!

What I'm wondering is how much more this expansion will change things in the present, as it already has.

(After all, the text on a good number of NPC's was altered as the expansion came along, and some quests jump between both timespans.)

And Volker puts the ass in Bas(s)tok thanks to his grand-dad. Even after doing all of Dynamis, I hate his guts.

You can't say that history has changed, since we can't say for sure that we weren't there the first time it played out already! <3 predestination paradoxes!

It has to happen because it already has happened in the past and will happen in the future

(edit: remembered the english word predestination paradox)

This is correct, and is the whole basis for my theory about us being the Hydra Corps, at least a part of them, the rest of the Corps which gets trapped sacrificing themselves to enable us to go on and win the fight, and our only bringing a limited amount of Relic Armor with us being why we get such shitty drop rates in Dienamis.
