Strange/Random phone calls.

When I was about 16 or so, I got a random call for a guy looking for his girlfriend. When he realized it wasn't his girlfriend, he started hitting on me anyway. I was slightly uncomfortable but I've been raised to not be rude to strangers in general. Finally when he got around to asking me my age:

Him: You sound so sexy on the phone... how old are you?
Me: I'm 15.
Him: Yeah you sound pretty sexy for a 15 year old. Where do you live anyway?
Me: With your girlfriend heh

Back in college in 1998 my friend and I found a good way to fuck with telemarketers. I guess on the college level they get other students to take student directories and try to sell us credit cards or long distance plans.

Anyway, some girl calls and asks for me, and I hand the phone to my friend, and I say "It's a telemarketer for me, get rid of her."

lol, so he picks up the phone and he goes:

Friend: "Hello?"
Telemarketer girl: "Hi, this is so and so from so and so, how are you?"
Friend: "I'm pretty well, except for an awkward sexual episode I had last night."

Girl on the other end of the line bursts out laughing and couldn't finish her sales pitch. The end.

I don't appreciate continuous phone calls at 8 in the morning during a midterm.

Turn off your cellphone during a midterm, for God's sake... I didn't know you were still in High School and had to be reminded.

High School? I'm in college. I'd rather leave it on and on silent or vibe for other reasons.

Our land line number was one digit off from a local Pizza Hut a couple years back. We used to get calls daily with people making orders, it got to a point where we would just go "Mmhm,okay, yeah. We'll deliver in 15 minutes." And hang up. =\ Really annoying. It closed down though, now we have some old lady that calls at 9:30 every morning and never says anything at all.

Person: Is this Winn-Dixie?
Me: For the 100th time, no!



Me: Hello?
Person: Yes, I called a bit earlier about my steaks. Are they ready?
Me: -.- No. I ate them. We're out. Sorry.

Seriously. Two-three times a week. My number is one off our local Winn-Dixie's.

Mine was one off from a Jimmy John's sub delivery shop when I lived in Milwaukee - we'd get a call once every couple weeks. I finally just started taking orders and telling them it would be there in 30 mins.

About 3 months after I got my cell (wich I rarely use) I would turn it on to see I have about 3 messages from this company, can't remember the name sadly. They would always ask for the same girl thing is it was an automated voice asking for her then she would give options after the initial subject. Sadly none of these gave a number to call them and tell them that they had the wrong person. This continued for a good 7 months with me getting angrier each time I would see a voicemail from them, eventually I got so annoyed I left my phone on for a week straight to see if they would call so I could tell them they had the wrong person.


They did eventually call and I did tell them the situation, upon hearing this they said "Oh I'm sorry, thank you for telling us". Finally it was over I thought only to get another call from them 5 minutes later asking for the same girl.
