    Re: Best/Favorite Smash Videos/matches

QD's recovery only becomes a factor if people don't realize you can force yourself into range and spot dodge it, shield it, or hell even just be above or below it (force the connection animation and he's a sitting duck). It's a spacing move with excellent recovery on the whiff but it still boils down to being an attack nonetheless. The recovery delay on his moves are important because of their range, if someone is out of range of your neutral or forward air but tries to move in on you afterwards, they will suddenly get into jab or grab range, the recovery of his moves is actually rather important when coupled with the hitboxes of said moves giving you a little breathing room. The tilt delay I mentioned more has to do with things like his up tilt and forward tilt having decent start up, incredible power (especially on the forward tilt), and great forward range for the design of the moves.

Why no posting of the videos?

Kirby vs Snake... really long battle, especially the last stocks lol.

EDIT: Oh and here is a Kirby vs Wario where Kirby wipes the floor with him. Notice the Final Cutter recovery/kill.

i dont know what you mean when you say "The recovery delay on his moves are important because of their range" because it makes it sound like the range/delay ratio is ...integral. Its almost as if (and i'm tired and about to take a nap so forgive me ) you're saying that a decrease in the delay of the attack would do nothing (which makes no sense, nothing is better than being fast and having more time to do what oyu need to do.)

I think what you're getting at is that the delay is somehow... a trick that goads your enemy into attacking you. (if thats not what you're saying, disregard this next part lol) People while learn what each character's moves looks like and how much time they have to act in response to that move. You can't really "trick" a veteran player into attacking you by using an attack that has fixed properties of startup, actual hitboxes, and lag. What ike has going for him (to possibly save him from this terrible lag) is the almost crippling knockback that the shielding character suffers, possibly pushing them out of range of their intended shield>counterattack, allowing ike to recover from the lag, and jab.

I watched all three videos during class and Pikachu's made me almost cry in laughter. It was kind of embarassing, but so worth it. XD

It was always strong but never hat strong, but that was without negation since he had just died. Pikachu also has the strongest non negated front smash in the game, stale moves play into it a lot.

Yeah, that's what I thought. His Forward Smash was always my pick in melee

It looks to be about the same power, just that this time around it's alot more noticeable since ALL the characters are floaty mc floaters. If you did pikachu's downsmash in melee to say Mewtwo or Samus(both really really floaty characters), you'd see a similar effect.

Not a match, but a compilation of Diddy Kong combos. Interesting.

Hadn't seen much with Diddy, he doesn't look too bad, but of course combo videos are just highlight reels and don't show a player's weaknesses.
