Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

To be honest I think people need to start damaging him with same element/day nukes. I feel thats part of keeping him contained. You can't just hold him and have him eventually rape you, and then act like you don't know what to do. Nuke him, even if its just 1-2 BLMs doing it, keep it up, alternate between 1,2,3,4 and see if that helps reduce his TP regen/Current 2hour usage and obviously change his mode to make him alil more docile.

Also think there's a big relation between the Aerns and his 2hours.

So couple things I think people need to try.
    1) Nuke him with the element of the day, I don't care if its just 1 or 2 BLMs you can spare, I believe its essential to keeping him contained, not just killing him.

    2) Do something with the surrounding Aerns. Seems like he's using 2hours based off of what Aern is up, or he only has the chance to use a certain 2hour when an Aern is up. Maybe we feel we're locking Manafont, but in reality its just that the Aern isn't up, and when he does pop, we're getting hit with it. Do something with the Aerns basically, wether its hold the Aern job you want to 2hour, or killing them and holding the opposite pop of that. (RDM instead of BLM, THF instead of BRD etc)

    3) Obviously keep mistakes to a minimum, no offensive JAs, no WSes.

    4) Try and alternate 2hours after he 2hours, like what was said before me by Zoot. (the1,2,3,4 (no more 2 hours to combat, so Manafont). I believe after every 2 hour of AV's, we should have at least 1 BLM who manafonts, just like SE did. (preferably only one BLM, and try and regen their 2hours after you've cycled through with a COR. Perhaps this will dictate how quick you need to kill him, based off of how many manafonts you have to keep him contained.

5)I think we need to be careful with how much we throw at him also, just like we used to be careful with Tiamat, Fafnir etc when it came to just zerging them with melee and spamming the mob with TP. No reason AV isn't different. (beside the obvious, apparent TP regen.)

I'd say they could be correlated, not necessarily an increase but like has been said before, the lower his hp gets the less hp he has.

I agree with this, I think holding it patiently is also stupid.

Keep it slow, but keep it up.

It's because you stay up all night to insult everyone who posts retarded stuff. Go sleep! Maybe that's why you're so cranky at everyone -- because you don't get enough sleep!

Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

The confusion I think is because he said it backwards with HP increasing, and then someone else said a tautology. If something has 200k HP, and you do 10,000 damage to it, it has 190k/200k or 95%. Maybe 3 seconds later it regens 2.1k HP so it has 192.1k/200k or 96% HP, or maybe it "regens" by losing 2.1k max HP, so it's at 190k/197.9k HP or 96% HP. The latter is what people suppose AV does based on wall-era Benediction screenshots that people reposted above.

Or maybe a programmer just decided to change his amount of Max HP. I think it was stated by SE that they changed AV a few times with out intial notice to the public.

Doubtful, since I'm pretty sure the Benediction screenshots with the discrepancies occurred close enough together that there wasn't any intervening server maintenance.

Pretty sure all the Benediction screenshots are all from around the same "AV Era". The WALL ERA

Although it's possible that it's different now, if that's what /anon meant. I think it's pretty widely believed that JoL had the same sort of thing going on when BG popped their first JoL, compared to now where it is significantly lessened or non-existent.

Just noticed Squirtle provoked a Wynav, and AV immediately starting to ready Soul Voice.
Might be connected, I don't know, Flash is still the other possibility.
I don't think flash nor bio or any other spell it seems triggers his 2 hours, so far all seem to be trigger by an ability. Yes even eating a sausage might trigger his 2 hour because it contains the word "uses" in it. Still could be wrong but I looked into it and more leans towards the "uses" then spells that cause his 2 hour.[/quote:2x37brqu]
Here's the log from Demo's AV fight, which actually doesn't prove/disprove anything, other than it being Xer's Shield Bash that caused that Perfect Dodge, which I've heard so many people say. There was 4 Dia's and 2 JA's being used, just before AV started readying his PD though.

I don't really know. Because there's no JA being used in the Dev's video, nor is the WHM doing anything but Dia, according to Sifer.

The other option is, of course, it just being a TP2H move, but we haven't seen it ready its 2-hour more than once per fight iirc, so that wouldn't really make sense to me.

We need some more screenshots/videos of the fights.

Ya, the problem with the AV on fairy was that everything that happened to it was "outside people" poking him to do stuff. It wasn't just one ls/alliance trying to fight him. Like what was being stated before, I think "the pace is wrong", even though we can't tp zerg rush him we still have to do some kind of damage to him in order to get any "pattern" out of him.

Still was fun watching everyone eating medusa javelin's though.

I think Plagueddeath is killing mobs outside, never see his name hitting AV.

    Darkstaruk is tanking it.

Edit: Also, his 3 Wynavs are using Breaths when he is readying is 2-hour. The theory of it being a TP move, might really not be a bad idea, supposing mobs's pets act like players'.

Umm... so you can MPK a whole party in a way, if you somehow get hate casting cure on the tank and using a /JA and getting lucky enough for AV to use Manafront because of that....which if this is true this would really suck because you can't have pl's because it would be best to use /blockaid because you never know.
