Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

Been busy so haven't been able to post but our shell popped AV earlier today also.

Our PLDs were /rdm for JoL and our PLD/NINs were afk when JoL died, so naturally AV raped us upon pop. Summoned wynavs (all aerns were down). We held it for a while with saccing. Upon our first attempt we first killed the 3 aerns by AV, then had someone solo claim AV (me) while blm's -ga'd the wynavs down (I had claim on AV solo so -ga's didnt hit AV). As soon as I died our tank party claimed AV and kinda held it for a couple minutes. As soon as an aern repopped, and I mean the instant it popped, AV used chainspell and proceeded to aeroga us into the ground. No JA's were used at all, so that wasnt what provoked him.

We decided to give it another attempt since we didnt have to worry about wynavs this time on the pull. We left the aerns up in the JoL pop area and pulled AV just outside that area. Again no JA's were used at all.

This time it was Firesday, so we had about 6 blms in the alliance with the tanks, and the blms were spamming all tiers of Fire spells. After about 2 minutes of this, AV called his wyverns. I was DRK/NIN outside the alliance. I cast Poisonga after AV called them and claimed all 3 wynavs, and proceeded to run off with them. As stated previously, they path fast, and I died shortly after.

However, they do not REPATH back to AV fast at all. They path at normal speed. Unfortunately, since I didnt get far, it still only took them about 30-45s to get back to AV. At which point the rape was on.

With that in mind though, the RDM/THF in SE's video used diaga to claim the wynavs upon pop, and then used flee to run them away. This is a good idea to get them away from AV. I know from previous kiting attempts at AV that even though they path quickly, one person fleeing can get them far away, I've made it to the palace on one Flee before with AV and his wynavs chasing me from the pop area. Even if the RDM/THF eventually dies kiting, they will path slowly it seems back to AV (provided the rdm/thf is solo for no alliance hate with the wynavs I imagine). Plenty of time for another kiter to grab them and run them off some more.

After our wynavs came back and killed us though, we decided we had enough for the day (2 JoLs after watching another LS kill one) and headed out. But I thought I would post about how the wynavs seem to path slower back to AV anyway. Could be useful for keeping them occupied while people deal with AV himself.

Sundi: You have to wait till the Regen is completely stopped. Regen of the HP has completely stopped.
Bercus: Then you can stop the other abilities?
Sundi: No. Only the speed of the Regen. At this time, by doing certain action during the fight.
Bercus: And then the whole monster will clam down and stop using these crazy attacks and 2hours? That´s what we need to know because that´s the problem.
Saori: There are still a few secrets.
    Sundi: Yeah.

From the very first post in this thread lol

Now maybe the new hint is what they are refering to as "There are still secrets"
that need to be done after breaking his regen?
It maty be 7:20 AM, but I still don't think that looks like what you're trying to say.

Sure it'd make a good theory, and it would make sense I guess, but I think he's saying "Yeah" to the 'secrets' part.

Maybe I'm just too tired, who the fuck knows.

The part I highlighted man, he specifically says you need to completely stop his regen.

i hope they aren't getting all of this because they would be wasting their time. They know what the fuck to test, stop with your crackpot theories

We can't seem to get anything accomplished wont drop below 98%. Av appeared to use a 2hour as the Aerns behind him spawned, unable to clearly confirm because we were getting our ass handed to us by wynavs and Aerns. Probably done for the day, Doesn't appear to retaliate when nukes not of the same game day are used.

Weren't able to test whether or not WS did make him retaliate. After dropping him to 98% we could not do anything else in terms of just nuking him. Rex is hosting another video ya'll can pick apart if you want. This is frustrating shit.

Started with aerns dead. When first aern poped av used invincible but had no reaction to the rest of the repops.

Yes, but then he says no to the next question.

I don't wanna argue about it now anyway. Gonna go to sleep.

no, somethings haven't been tested yet, I don't think Demo or Apathy had the regen completly shutdown before the 2HR tricks, so, like they said, maybe once we stop the regen THEN the new hint they showed will work. What ever that is...well...thats still unknown really

Calling it a night, tried keep aerns down while fighting AV and couldn't deal with both aerns and wynavs at the same time. Did awhole lot of fighting and not alot of testing. Seems nuking element of day almost completely kills regen, had AV at 98% for a few mins with no damage and didn't see any regen whatsoever. Once he's pulled outside his cove it seems regen gets insane again.

Perhaps SE made regen that way to make killing him impossible anywhere outside his pop zone in order to avoid people using exploits to kill.

Not really, he asked if once you stopped his regen he'd chill out, that's what he said no to.
So it is still probable that after you kill his regen, then the new hint can be attempted.

Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

I really do think kiting Wynav(s) is a step in the right direction. If you're out of range on Mijin Gakure, Astral Flow, and their spells, it's no harm to kite them. I'm especially interested in seeing if keeping 1 Wynav out stops AV from calling out more.

I think it's definitely the right step in preventing 3 2 Hours! 12 to go.

The reason I think it's the best course of action:

-In the video they show their members doing this, if there was a better course of action, don't you think they would have picked that instead?

-If they didn't want this as a possible solution, then wouldn't SE have made it so Wynavs were immune to these status' as well?

Now for my next question, what else are Wynav able to be landed with. Does silence land? Does Bind land?

These could be very important things if kiting Wynav(s) are important to this fight. (This also cuts down the amount of people -absolutely- needed for the fight, 2 kiters = more help for main with other people)

Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

What we found out tonight seems to be: Aerns are somehow related, not using abilities does not stop av from using 2hours, nukes of the day seem to weaken the regen a lot, and regen outside its pop zone is insane.

Edit: Gravity sticks on summons but did not get to test silence or bind.

Edit#2: Regen resets after the wipe. The attempt after the one we seen almost no regen in had high regen.

You obviously can't, or at least not in a proper order. When he said that, it was before that part came up. He was trying to get them to tell him how to stop AV's 2HR's, but they kept hitting him with the Regen part. Then they told him you need to completly shutdown his regen.
He then asks if AV will then chill out.
    He says no.
He then tells them that it's not the regen that is the problem, its the 2HR's, and he asks
if theres a way to stop them.
Then "There are still some secrets"

Which is what leads me to believe that regen needs to be killed in order to do anything else.
Tell me that it isn't probable.

Ok looking at that video and counting out the tics in my head, it does appear that your right about the regen. At one point your LS does roughly 1500 dmg to him and it takes him only 11 seconds to regen the damage back. And at the end there is a point when you guys had him moved back to the ??? area and your BLMs only do 600 dmg to him and you can count out about 15 seconds before Xer takes his cursor off of AV and his hp never returns to 100% and no significant dmg is dealt in this period of time.

I listened to the recordings of the interview Bercus did, and it really did seem like they didn't know what to say. Sundi sounded like Teddy Ruxpin running out of batteries, slowly mumbling regen over and over.

I wouldn't read into that particular interview so much beyond the fact that Absolute Virtue has a strong regen effect and there is a way to stop it.

Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

Some stuff i found out in the SE Videos, might also be good for OP.

    First off:

There were 29 people, 4 camera ppl, 20 fighting AV and 5 dealing with Wynav’s.

German cam = Hume F BLM in full Af2
French cam = Hume F WHM/NIN with nobles and Kraken club
English cam = Hume F WHM in full AF2
Japanese cam = Elvaan F WHM in full AF2

They were “Invincible” during the fight and I guess “Invicible” at the same time, so please stop asking why they were standing under AV without taking dmg etc.

    The AV part:

6 of them were in front most of the time (DRK, SAM & 4 tanks)
    14 at the back (4 BLMs, 4 WHMs, 2 RDMs, 2 BRDs, 1 SMN, 1 DRG)

5 people (Mithra BRD in full AF1, Taru BRD in Shair, another Taru BRD with Mahatma Hat, Taru WHM and the RDM puller in Af1 hat) were farther back, most likely holding or kiting the Wynavs. 2 of the WHMs (Hume M & Hume F) were running forth and back to AV/Wynavs probably curing/raising people.

RDM/THF pulled @12:10 Iceday EN Vid Part3 and was still kiting one with Gravity @8:50 Lightningday in FR Vid Part1. I’m not sure if they killed 2 of them and held 1 or held all 3, maybe 3x BRD/BLM ES Horde Lullaby rotation, did anyone actually try using ES lullaby on them?

Sadly, the Dev-Team didn’t wipe and this fight took 1-2 hours as said. I guess the reason why they resettet their 2 hours was, because they wanted to make 4 different Videos (JP/EN/DE/FR) with 1 fight, of course they only had 25x 2hrs for 1 vid so they had to reset them for 4 Vids, but they fucked up and you only see 25x 2hrs being used in the EN video, in others you see 30, 22 etc. They messed up all the 2hrs and prolly didn’t think when cutting the video except the part showing nukes corresponding to the day to lower his regen.

So the hints they gave us are: JoL adds for the first part of the regen, nukes of the day for the 2nd part and after that, everyone that is fighting AV or his adds/that has hate, has to use his 2hr right after AV uses a 2h, to fully stop his Regen or his nasty stuff like he said here.

Bercus: And then the whole monster will clam down and stop using these crazy attacks and 2hours? That´s what we need to know because that´s the problem.
Saori: There are still a few secrets.
    Sundi: Yeah.
I’m sure the order and how many 2hrs (at the same time) you use doesn’t matter that’s why they made a couple scenes on different 2 hours. I guess he will stop using the 2 hours of the people that used theirs that’s why they didn’t bother bringing a MNK, WAR, RNG etc. since their PLDs had Invincible available all the time, but idk...maybe :/

I also believe that they removed all the other mobs for this fight, like the 3 Aerns, either because it has something to do with AV using 2hrs when they’re up or their RDM would have gotten a couple adds while pulling/kiting the Wynavs. One last thing I noticed, there’s a WHM afk? running with flee speed against a wall at the end of the JP Video when AVs going down. I’m sure SE has used a couple cheats for this vid :(

Anyway, hope this helps. 7:40am I’m done watching their stupid Videos...

Ya I wouldn't be surprised if this was like the Almighty Apkallu(edit) Response of "who?". They might have had him confused with JoL, hence the puzzled looks they gave when he said that it's not 100% pop.

Can anyone else confirm my numbers about the regen effect near and away from the ??? in the Demo ls, just in case some of the dmg might have been filtered?
