Absolute Virture uses Maiden's Virelai which is a single target charm, only while under the effect of Soul Voice. The locket doesn't make you immune to charm, just gives a slight resistance- very slight. I used to use it all the time in Undead Besieged and I resisted a total of maybe 3 charms ever.

On the other hand, if the Wynavs are nuked down, perhaps using Call Wyvern to match every 2-hour would lesson AV's attempts to resummon the Wynav's.
Personally, I belive the best way to deal with the Wyvern's is to grab hate (im starting to wounder if the 2 hours were just used to keep AV's attention on the tanks.) and flee. They actually return to AV very slowly, because they are NM's they don't de-pop if you zone.

Edit: Has anyone proven that AV only uses his 2 hours near his pets? Could it be as simple as keeping his pets out of range? The whole fight in the dev video his pets were noplace to be seen. We also saw someone using flee now and then just off camera at least three times.

He'll still use his two hours when they're not around. He'll still use two hours when they're not even up. If you read back, the attempt we did we had them kited and yes, he will still use two hours. If you read back on some of the attempts even within this thread, they were kited by RDM/THF fleeing, in fact we did this.

Ok thx. It's getting hard to keep track of all these posts, even with the cheat sheets on page one. At least this means people are still tring, I just wish my LS would get back into this. =/

I'm starting to think the same thing about the Wynav's. If they do indeed return to AV slowly, it would seem feasible that an outside party could distract them indefinetly, with the right setup. Which would free up the BLMs to use manafont, and certainly make testing AV a lot easier.

There's no evidence that pets have any effect whatsoever on AV's 2-others, other than the fact that he obviously can't use pet related 2-hours without pets.

It is relatively easy for a decently skilled RDM (I had crimson, don't know if its required tho) to hold them indefinitely kited around one of the islands at K-11, L-10. I've kited one for about 15-20 mins and only stopped after the rest of the alliance wiped. They are easy to gravity (atleast initially) and as long as you have each (1 per) RDM pick their wynav at start and get it gravitied, it will follow them w/o a problem. Now, 6 waynavs may be a problem.. but there are other islands just don't take my island. (Another thing we tried was to have an external party bring them to 5% hp before kiting, but this leaves the the melees that did the damage with hate and the wynavs could go back for them... or you'd have to have the melees zone)

Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

This has to be the slowest bunch of learners ever wandering aimlessly in a topic to run circles around the same theories for days.

Not only was it states like 2-3 pages back, you're all blundering about what the benefits it would give you to kite Wynavs away, die, and let them wander back.

You can pair a RDM, and a NIN together,(could probably be done with a decent RDM by themselves even.) in an outside PT, dia 1 Wynav, and gravity (Since this was confirmed in the Demo fight.) it and run with it for the duration of the fight. Have your BLMs nuke off the other two, and see if he even resummons the Wynavs. If he doesn't resummon them, then you at least get to keep the activity down, and makes it so you eliminate 3/15 two hours, which is definitely worth it.

It just needs to be tested to see if he even resummons them, and if he does, does he resummon another set of three? Does he summon the previous two that were killed off? If that's the case, then it's probably a lot easier for BLMs to deal with just 2 Wynavs, instead of the three cluster-fucking the BLMs.

    /end.

Can we think outside of Wynavs now?

They already said like two pages back that he will resummon the remaining amount of wynavs with call wyvren.

And yes it is easier for two RDM/THF with powder boots to hold the wynavs to free up the black mage party to kill aerns/help with AV etc.

Maybe already tried but i don't see it mentioned. Has anyone used day of the week elemental weaponskills to see if it is reactionary or not? I.E. dagger weaponskill cyclone on windsday.

Why worry about 6 Wynav's? Supposedly he only spawns them at 59%, and no one's ever even been able to take him below 79% legit. Let's wait to cross that bridge until we figure out how it's even possible to reach it.

Yes, and he responds to it in the same "maybe he will maybe he won't 2-hour" fashion that he responds to everything. Forget the reactionary theory for now.

gosh i hate to be a hypocrite.

all the av threads are total trash at the moment. they're all full of a shit ton of tards saying a shit ton of stupid shit about AV that they THINK they know. posters who have recently fought AV should only be allowed to post in an AV related thread. ugh... useless. to contribute!

my LS has gotten AV down to 79% without a wall trick and yes, he does indeed begin to spam meteor and comet in which case we all died and said fuck it.

We used Blizzaga and Thundaga to nuke down the wynavs, it was late lightsday/early darksday on these attempts.

As for our 2hr order, I can only tell you the first 4 in the order, as I had that planned before AV and still have it written down. After those 4 it was just finding out who had what and then calling them ahead of time. Order was: (1) BLM, WHM, RDM; (2) BRD, WHM, BLM; (3) BLM, RDM, PLD(this proved to be a death sentence for the PLD) (4) BRD, BLM. That was the planned order, however, on occasion 1 person may have missed their turn due to panic or death, but I can say with complete certainty that on the first few attempts, as long as we kept those wynavs away, every time he 2hrd, we had at least one person counter.

Thankies! That's good to know, then I guess probably like 2 RDM (And maybe a NIN?) could kite them all indefinitely lol. I think 1 RDM might get a little tattered and torn up. :3

Cuz if you don't plan that far ahead (on a serious attempt) then you're not gonna be able to kill it? and because we already know how to handle 3? and 6 kiters* (with support) in an ls being ready/able to kite might need some preparation work?

Even with 6, I think that 3 RDMs could more than handle 6, 2 each. I was also told silence lands on them, but I think that needs confirmation.

All that preparation will be a waste of time if it turns out that we can't figure out how to get past 79% Meteor Spam, and end up having to wait for the next video anyway.

I'm very curious if this is still the case or if it's been ninja fixed... or perhaps if countering AV's 2-hours prevents this somehow. If it doesn't, and he does indeed still spam Meteors at 79%, well... at least we have something specific to complain about next fan-fest. Maybe we'll get another video of the dev team dodging meteors.
