This is the best post I have seen so far, aside from people actually fighting A.V. and Sath/Rocl bitching at noobs.

    P.S. And :ashira: posts.

Yeah but the only way you get an answer to that question is if he actually does exist, in which case you could also just ask him if he knows how to kill AV.

And the Lord spoke, "Killing nearby mobs will reduce the regen effect."

ok... idk if anyone else has noticed this.. not going to read threw 24 pages of ideas...anyways if you watch the english video.. when AV pops Soul Voice you see the 2 hour spam of the alliance and at the very end if you will notice a BRD pops Soul Voice matching AV's 2 hour... then same thing happens on Chainspell... AV pops it.. alliance pops 2 hours.. then a RDM uses Chailspell to match AVs... i dont really think we can lock AVs 2 hours.. but this might be the method to getting our 2 hours refreshed...

I've wanted to post something like this for a while, but I haven't. It's incredibly disheartening to wait for a video that was delayed for months, after having a virtually undefeatable mob taunting everyone for years, only to be shown a vague video that obviously omits critical information. Cue the "You want to know how to defeat AV?" *crush* Sundi meme. There's so much vague information in that video, zoom-ins on stuff that hasn't panned out in practice, and massive lack of information that as Nui said, people are no better off now than they were before the video. All it's done is given the community a false sense of hope and something to occupy their time with.

SE if you're reading this thread, knock it off with the bullshit and give us some REAL information. Enough with the cryptic puzzles and incomplete strategies. I'm not asking for a step-by-step, but a sensible direction to go in without all the vague clues that has everyone chasing their tails.

Re: Absolute Virtue & You: A Learning Experience

I think the lack of understanding comes from the people who've never fought AV. They don't understand that LS's are struggling to survive long enough to even do any testing at all. They're spending all their blm resources dealing with Wynav's/Aerns barely keeping up MP just barely holding back from wipes, while cycling through pld tanks just to "maintain" a near no damage hold on AV. How can proper testing be done in an environment like this?

Why do you think LS's are posting log dumps of the fights? Think the members are stupid and need people who have never even seen AV to "break it down and tell em how it is?". Its because the fight is so chaotic in nature. How are they supposed to test if manafont is remove from AV's 2hr cycle if every time they wipe its cause the wynavs are being dicks?

This is why people here are /facepalm'ing and want to banstick people who won't shut the fuck up. People need to stop posting the obvious shit. Its time to talk about facts. I was hopeful when I saw how great the OP was put together. Listed lots of facts and set a good tone for discussion but its broken down to garbage posts now.

As an LS leader, I'm searching for facts in these pages. Theories are great but they really need to come after a solid understanding of the facts. I agree with the mods on this one. I think a firm grip needs to be taken here with this. I might be off base here when I say this but...

Beyond facts and theories we need strategy. I feel the most helpful fact to our current problem to come out of the past 20 pages of this thread is that a single rdm can solo kite a wynav around an island in sea.

That means 3 solid rdm's with W legs could potentially free up a large chunk of resources for an LS to do real testing instead of worrying about a wipe. It means we can use these facts to create a solid strategy that will allow LS's to test more facts.

I think what would be really helpful to the BG community as a whole, would be to put together a strategy that LS's can follow in order to glean some more facts for the community. Lets get some of the brighter strategic minds together to build a strategy that can be presented to the community as a whole. Take the Rukenshins, the Kaekos, etc and get them working together.

Why don't we build a strategy based on everything we know now and present it to the community somehow? Something like:

You will need 3 rdm with W legs.
    6 pld's with fealty
    6 blm's
    3 brd's
    3 rng's
    4 whm's

Set up your alliance this way. Here are some helpful tips to get your rdm's safely kiting wynavs. Tips for pld tanking AV's TP moves. When AV uses "xx 2hr" we suggest you shadowbind and run away. Include things like "Best strategy to survive Aeroga IV".

Etc, etc. It would take some work to put it all together, but more than anything if LS's had a road map to follow that members can understand, we might find some more significant testing is produced every time an AV pops.

Much of what I see is a lack of preparation on behalf of most LS's. They simply don't know what to do when AV pops. They just engage, survive a while and wipe out at the first sign of danger. Members lose moral and don't see an end goal in sight, so they want to give up and essentially we end up back at square one.

Anyway, I'm hoping i'm not alone in my thoughts here. If I can be of service, I will gladly help out.

Maybe the reason the video was 2 months late is because it took SE that long to finally get lucky and win the fight? lol...

I don't want to get reamed for posting quirky theories, but as AV didn't pop when we did back to back JoL's, I thought I'd bring this up for discussion. I was laying in bed, about to fall asleep, when it occured to me that the virtues needed to pop sea gods were numerated. First Virtue, Second Virtue, and so on.

According to each virtue, as everyone knows, is associated a sea god. And each of those gods has a job, right? ie, Fortitude is a Paladin who drops the Second Virtue. Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any correspondance with using 2-hours in the order in which the virtues are numerated. Or, perhaps, if it has any conclusive result based upon which virtues are used to pop JoL.

Just a thought. Not meant to be facepalmed.

Its when you said "Not going to read threw 24 pages" that people shifted their thoughts to "burn him at the stake!". As soon as I read that line I felt like saying "Shut the fuck up please". It doesn't matter how good or bad your idea is at this point, it doesn't solve any problems people are having. If you had bothered to read whats going on you might actually have a chance of understanding that.

Read my post just before yours and perhaps it will give you an understanding of why these posts are useless. Its not that the idea's are bad or are unworthy of testing. The problem is they don't solve LS's current problem with AV. The problem has nothing to do with what theories are tested. The problem is LS can't get a solid footing with AV to do any real testing.

As soon as we realized that reacting to AV's 2hrs with our own didn't completely lock him, was when the focus needed to change. The focus needs to change from locking/theorizing etc about what to test, and it needs to change to "How can we set up our fight in a way to maximize our ability to do testing?"

Although every pre-ToAU job is accounted for by some sea NM, not all of them--and more specifically not all of the ones used in the SE video--are from Jailers. For instance, Soul Voice is used by Ix'aern DRG's wynavs, and Call Wyvern of course by that Ix'aern itself. There's also Benediction and Chainspell which are used by Qn'aerns, and Blood Weapon is used by another Ix'aern. Where would you propose those fit in the sequence?

Well, as of yet, my theory only includes basing the order of the 2-hours used based upon the numeration - Ix'DRK & such don't have numerated virtues, so I'm not sure about those. I'm sorry it's a shakey theory, I just had an idea, wanted to bring it up for discussion, and let the real thinkers do what they're good at.

Ive noticed a few posts about shells not being able to test as fully as they like because they either lack the blm power, or all their blms are tied up with pets / other aern pops. So if any asuran shell pops him and needs a blm to do w/e (even if its just holding one mob on the other side of the zone for you) let me know. If im not in dyn/salvage/limbus im usually in the garden xping so ill be close by.

No, no, no, You don't get your 2hours refreshed, now shut the fuck up. I've already said it, if you haven't fought it/aren't fighting it right now, no body cares what you think. Speculate all you want, just don't fucking do it in these threads.
