There is your breakdown. 2 hours have no effect on AV as you can clearly see from the video when he uses chainspell and 2384290347 2 hours go off it had no effect. He continued to Aeroga IV and Tornado 2. When he used Call Wyvern and again 230948230 2 hours went off, did the wyverns disappear? No. It's all about elemental spells and keeping him tame as the video suggests; when it zooms in on the chatlog of the mages switching from ice to thunder because of day change. The rest of the shots in the video I think were examples of what NOT to do to AV. But, by all means flame on.

JoL lasted 1 hour. They tried to killed more shark they could (JoL pet I mean) and killed every Aern during the JoL fight.

No Aern were up when AV pop.

They casted thunder tiers 1-4 but AV was apeshit crazy. Did SAM 2hr and then DRG 2hr.

All in less than 10 mins.

Then Manafont and wiped everyone with Meteor.

I was there PLD/nin, used Fealty and got 250 points of damage from meteor lol.

Now theyre rebuilding the ally and trying again.

BLM nuked with thundaga the Wynavs. AV raped them with WSs, then used immidiatly Manafont again. Meteor, everyone wiped again.

They are just keeping the aern down and nuking with tiers 1/4.

But hes spamming 2hrs. On #3 attempt he used MNK > RDM > MNK > BST > Call Wyvern. All in 10 mins again.

They were doing great but they died most on Chainspell Aeroga cause they have lot of ppl around it when you should leave 1-2 tanks only.

They are going to retry again btw.

What is "Spam? as in every 30seconds or minute? Have u tried to keep the wyverns down to see if it effects his usage of 2hr? Also, have u broke his regen already? Try nuking with 1-2-3-4 of the same day, then attempt with straight Tier V with same day.

I assume by "spam" you mean AV uses a 2-hour once per minute. Yes, he always does that and nothing we have tried has been able to stop it. Using spell elements of the day will only effect the regen, it won't do anything to stop his 2-hours. On lightsday, you pretty much need to stick to banish/holy/dia AFAIK. Aero/Fire/Thunder will not effect his regen.

What's your party makeup? How many BLMs do you have?

Maybe the dev's all spammed using 2 hr because their timers were back up and didn't notice until AV popped one on them. I know it's my first post and all, but don't remember seeing that anywhere. I personally do not think SE is slick enough to make it overly hard.

Just a theory I had on the "Readies' instead of "Uses" could be a marker that his regen is completely off. That is to say people are possibly doing the right thing and then the wrong thing. Demo's logs have tons of examples to try to find a change/pattern. He will ready his TP moves too, not just his 2Hs.

I think there are obvious advantages of making him do this even if it didn't have to do with stunning 2H but even more important if it did. This is a tough fight and those 2min(Game time) from his Readies to Uses can at least prepare you for your strategy against 2H i.e. MDB swaps, Shadowbind... Whatever your strategy is for dealing with it. If a person can survive this Meteor move, then it looks surprisingly like the tactic that must be used to defeat Proto-Ultima in his final stage. Perhaps instead of getting a quaint timer text from the mob itself, we can make our own timer since we know about when he's going to 2H. All we really need is at least some kind of heads up of some kind of order... The idea that it's completely random could be true, and would cause it to retain the title of "Hardest Boss ever" due to complete randomness. Would suck but look at "The One to Be Feared" for example. Sometimes Omega and/or Ultima can just go ape-shit for no reason anyone has been able to find out, other than they're random dice rolling cheaters! Only theory I've ever heard is something about moon-phase but lol... need I say ebon panel?

It can 'ready' or 'use' every 2hr not specific 2hrs. Something that I know hasen't been tried is countering a 'readies' 2hr with the same 2hr. The reason I know this is because no one usually makes it to the point where you see 'readies' 2hr; something makes it do this or it does it randomly (no one knows). Also as pointed out by someone in this thread when it does 'ready' a 2hr there is an instance of a weapon skill or ability animation that happens, when it 'uses' there is nothing but the 2hr dust cloud under AV and AV itself does not change in anyway (this slight difference can be seen in the SE video when you watch AV 'readies chainspell' you see it is different from the other 2hrs seen in the video). I see no reason why this monster would both 'use' AND 'ready' every 2hr..

They also reset their 2hrs in the video. Did it ever occur to you that them spamming 2hrs is to tell you that 2hrs are needed, not to show you exactly what 2hrs to use or order used or when you use them.


edit: The video is meant to show a 'secret' not to give you every detail and in what order, to kill AV. If that was the case they wouldn't have made a video, and instead told us 2years ago. They want people to figure it out, that is why they waited so long and gave simple hints along the way. They didn't make this video to show you exactly what you must do however the answer is in the video, you must look for it
