Republicans, Democrats. It's like a sports teams in America, what side are you on?! MY SIDE IS BETTER THEN YOUR SIDE.

I can bet you $5 that Barkley doesn't even know what democrat or republican is suppose to mean.

I'll take that bet. He knows more about what they are "supposed to mean" than these poser political experts that they normally have on these new channels. I agreed with almost everything he said except for his desire for Obama/Clinton instead of Clinton/Obama.

I especially agreed with the "fake Christians" statement

I just hope everyone realizes that the hard facts is its going to be another republican 4 years. America is still stupid, there won't be a black or woman president for a while. This is still a "good ole boys" country.

yep, cause it's painfully obvious more people are going to vote against Obama because he is black than people voting for him purely because he is black

If you had any intelligence at all you would realize that Charles has always been outspoken when it comes to Politics and Social issues. while the way he says things lack the finesse of seasoned Politicians his points of view are something I and alot of other people would stand by.

Yea Killgannon! I mean just look at our track record of all the Presidents we've ever had! We've had jews, gays, women, latino and arab presidents.. Oh wait thats right they all been White male christians. the only one that didnt fit in the Mold was JFK and that was only because he was Catholic.

While Ill agree it probably wont happen in this case I wouldn't totally put it past the American people.

lol, in his own words he told me that he supports obama because of the image he gives to the black community. Real intense and scholarly stand on political philosophy, let me tell you. Honestly, this type of shit is no different then the evangelicals voting for Bush.

He told you? didn't know you were in his Fave five. He said its was one of the reason why he supports Obama not the Sole reason. You probably listened to the first 30 seconds then rushed to judgement

I've always respected him for speaking his mind regardless of the consequences, but his ignorance is showing on this one.

Where did he say that? Certainly not in that video.

Anyway, you are missing the point. I'm certainly not the smartest guy in here, but I can tell when somebody is making decisions on incomplete information, and that's how most of America works, they make political decisions based on crap. Not something one should admire. It's utter ignorance.

Re: Barkley unleashes the Chaos Dunk on CNN

Uh, he said he also would support Hilary if she won the nomination. I thought about his support of Obama over Hilary as being kinda superficial, but tbh I think he does have a pretty legitimate reason given the community he's a part of- Obama has a role model/positive impact thing with the black community that Hilary just can't account for (and there's nothing wrong with that either way; Hilary has a resonance with female voters in a similar manner). Simple fact is that the less you educate yourself on issues/focus on politics, the more likely you are to make your voting decisions based on associations. Barkley isn't the most politically minded person (and I agree with evilbau that he wouldn't really make a good politician, at least for awhile), but he's identified the social issues important to him and observed what he hasn't liked happening, and has chose to support the Democrats, preferring Obama out of personal relationship and association.
