Default settings restore after zoning

I'm currently using Vista (probably the problem D and windower and whenever I zone into a new area, my macro book switches back to the book active when I log in and my background aspect ratio switches back from 16:10 > 4:3. I'd assume that all my other settings I'd change would restore back to the same if I change them.

Anyone encounter this problem before and can recommend a solution?

Make sure your FFXI/POL folders aren't set to read only.
