Figured id share as well on what works with the nyzul isle static im in:
First of, while our PT configuration tends to change from run to run b/c sometimes not everyone can make it, the set up below tends to be our basic set up:
MNK/NIN (has BB)
WAR/NIN (me)
BLU/NIN
THF/NIN (TH4)
RDM/WHM
WHM/WHM
The last slot is what tends to be the job that changes the most, sometimes we go RDM & RDM (trust me, it works), or RDM and BRD. I myself prefer RDM and WHM over RDM & BRD or dual RDM myself, but either one of the 3 works. Its always good to have at least WHM or a BRD as well to possess some way of sleeping undead (bones, mainly), but dual RDM is a great option as well imo. In the, however, having a WHM there can prove invaluable should you face mobs that can potentionally petrify you (Lizards, Dahaks, Ahrimans).
Aslo, i have a fully merited SAM as well (just as my WAR is) so you may be wondering why i chose that over coming as WAR over SAM. Well i have been playing around in Nyzul isle for a while now and i just prefer the DoT that WAR provides over SAM, not to mention having at least one voker there is a must imo.
Most types of floors are easy to handle, so ill go over the ones that tend to give ppl headaches:
"Eliminate specified enemies"
Most of the time (if not all the time) a soulflayer floor can mean the difference whether you clear that run or not, this is where your melees having cleric's drinks proves to be invaluable. Also, this is when having a BRD tends to speeds things up, since they can dispel the ice spikes with relative high success. There is no secret to beating these floors, just suck it up, and zerg em as fast as possible, this is one of the main reasons where having a BLU present can be a life-saver (head-butt) b/c of the fact they tend to spam -ga crap.
Order lamps:
When i first started doing nyzul isle, this was the main reason we would always run out of time, once you get the hang of it, though, its easy, even if it is a case of just trial-and-error.
Whenever you find the amount of lamps (3-5), you just give out an order (for example, lets say its 4 lamps, players A, B, C, and D) you would just try a random order (D, C, B, A, for example) and just go through orders until you find which person belongs in which order until you eventually find the correct combination. Thankfully the cool down time on trying orders is nowhere near as long as "same time lamps" which makes this less stressful then you think it is. Of course, things like mobs around lamps can and will complicate things, this is when you should send whatever mages/etc that can sleep mobs to w/e lamp that is and let them handle that lamp.
Boss floors (20/40)
This is simple, if you are a melee, get fanatics/HP drinks. If you get turtle you are SOL b/c it will dispell the HP boost sooner or later, Faffy/Behemoth cant, so that makes the fight against those much eaiser. Even without HP boost, Turtle is a joke, especially if you have a BRD there to elegy it. Against the turtle, just zerg it down and dispel the DEF boost crap whenever it does and the fight should be over within 5 minutes, Behemoth is almost the same deal except that it can wipe your shadowns and stun you as well, which can get annoying, but it dies just as fast as turtle does, so as long as someone pulls hate early in the fight and pops a fanatics, this becomes a piece of cake, just zerg it down and it should be dead within 5 minutes as well.
Faffy, ultimately, is the one that can be a pain-in-the-ass. Even with the HP drink, terror can kill someone rather quickly if others in your PT cant pull hate from you, so i usually as WAR immediately rampage it, pop a fantatics, switch to Perdu Voulge, use dusky wing (gives 300 TP), use Warrior's Charge, then use Steel Cyclone for an easy 1600+ damage spike, this makes the mob attack me for a while, while taking no damage while the others in the PT zerg it down with no danger at all. Of course, when it gets down to 20% life, this is when you wanna kill it asap, as the barrage of Hurricane wings can wipe a PT with full life rather quickly. No tricks here, if you manage to get it to this point, it should be no difficultly getting it down to 0 now, but its always nice to have a WHM for this if ever the need for benediction should come, this can be a run saver imo.
Anyways i gtg to work, ill edit this later or w/e, to the OP i hope this helps and gl
