Finale works fine too. Flayers are simply immune to Dark element magic.Only BLU can dispel the flayers, or aura steal works if you're extra desperate (leader NM usually).

Everyone seems scared about using the WAR/NIN to tank.
Does he need Survivability gear? I'm pretty sure it would help out a lot, but how would he fair tanking in a DD setup?
A War/Nin will end up tanking at some point if he has any decent gear. If you have the mage support, war/nin can tank.Originally Posted by Curcio
My static has used ONLY a war/nin tank since we started and we have had nothing but success plus the advantage of having a tank that can actually do damage with ease.Originally Posted by vagus
We are on floor 80 atm farming bodies which has only seemed to have produced 1 askar and 5 golliard /wrists!

Then last night we got kill all w/ dahak floor 76, flayer leader on 77, family flayer on 78....
I think that it took my one group 12 or more times to get 1 Goliard. (Several Askars though.) Remember, the Fun Inhibitor Engine™ can sense who wants what the most, and will deny that piece of armor from dropping. I really, really, really, really wanted a Goliard Siao for Atum's Devotion set, more than anyone wanted Askar, so it took forever for one to drop. This is your key to getting the items that you want, find someone who wants something else even more.Originally Posted by Donjarfi

Question: I currently do not do Nyzul Isle assaults, but I was wondering if it would be worth doing for the gear for RNG, or if only needing 2-3 pieces makes it not well worth your time.
Still makes it worth your time... There were only a few items i really wanted, anything else is just bonus. Also, I'm sure when you start a static other members will want pieces. All I wanted originally was askar boots, askar korazin, and goliard boots. I've ended up with multiple other freelot pieces that *no one really wanted so we all free lotted* kinda thing (that i do, in fact, use occasionally*![]()
It's a lot more fun than other weekly grind events.
The armor is (situationally) good quality, there are occasional gil drops (even little stuff like wivre hides, soulflayer staff, etc.), but the real worthwhile factor will depend on what the weapons do. Better to get started early IMO.

I wouldn't mind either of those, actually. I mean... I guess the club would be semi-useless... but until we know the stats it could be pretty worthwhile. I was hoping BRD would get another Horn... not sure what it'd do but I dunno. Guess just wait and see what these weapons do.Originally Posted by Osede

I'd say do Nyzul Isle anyway and get the pieces you want. By the time you get them all you've most likely gotten other pieces via free lot for any future job you may play. Also you get may get lucky and get bonuses like:

Lol I am in this static and we went yesterday and got more Goliard. This time 2/2 on hands. First time we have farmed hands really so both were needed. Went 0/2 on bodies. I think our THF was scared to make anything drop from body floors this week due to his recent success on Goliard lol. 17 drops, 11 of which are goliard now for us lol and only 2 mages in the static. 4 Feet, 2 Hands, 5 Bodies now. Askar where? Oh and we got 3/4 Cerb floors </3 /cryOriginally Posted by Sydneysam
My group typically goes, THF,PLD,WAR,MNK,BLU,RDM
- Gears are extremely easy to pull and if you have something like kill spec. enemy just have RDM sleep the gear and move on to find the enemy.
- Our BLU dispels the Flayers and we have 2-3 people buy clerics from the box since they have like 60k+ points since we have sent since June. If not the RDM does great with erase.
- Boss can be tanked by a DD but we do it with PLD for w/e reason and they do fine on the way up.
- Make sure you have a really good rdm and they can do the healing on their own. Ours is amazing in nyzul and overall as a RDM. (Gekiganger FTW ^^)
- We have got about 50 pieces all together and our group has been changed many times only me and the red mage are the same people that started the group but I only let good friends that I know have experience in Nyzul or are just good players in general replace people. Pretty much though have a good rdm or you will fail terribly.
Well, they may smarten up about Nyzul weapons and make them have relevant stats for the job. Like WHM club with Cure Potency +20%, RDM sword with Enfeebling skill +20%. I know, I am dreaming.Originally Posted by Curcio
But for some reason that I cannot fully comprehend, I want a Vorpal Sword in the worst way.
after going 4 goliard 1 denali body, last night we got these pretty things.

Unfortunately I lost the lot on both of them. First one I lotted 3xx, 2nd one 1xx... yea... 1 more for my static and we will move up.
Slightly off topic but didn't want to make a new thread:
Can you low-man Nyzul with the goal of just getting to floor 100? Or is 6 people practically required?
It doesn't seem to scale, so 6 people is pretty much necessity for clearing All Enemies and Specific Enemies floors in a quick and timely fashion.Originally Posted by Not Kuno
Darn. I knew it didn't scale but I was wondering if it was possible to low-man, as I doubt I'll be able to get 6 people. Oh well ty for reply.
