Their lifespan is longer than that of other race canonically IIRC, I'd imagine their life cycle would be slower too.

I dunno, I always imagined they were like most other long-lived fictional races: Aging normally until adolescence-adulthood then it slows down dramatically. The longer life-span is definitely canon, but the rest is a bit blurry.

Gumbah is 20 years old, yet is displayed as a kid. That suggests that they age half as fast.

Damn, I thought there was evidence of it, just couldn't remember where (I haven't watched that mission in years, another one of the things I'd learned and then forgot. ._.) So they experience a growth spurt between 20 & 30 just as humans experience one between 10 & 20. I want to say though that I always assumed Gumbah was merely acting his age, I didn't expect that their emotional growth would be just as slow.

I always figured that they matured at half the rate, mostly from that line. A little more evidence would be nice though.

I'm still working on the next chapter. It's has a bunch of annoying puns and I also don't like it, so it's taking a bit. It involves the 5 Serpent Generals though, and I know a lot of people like them.

Also, I got a new job last night without realizing it, and that's going to eat up some more time. I went to a ? juku, or cram school, that's run by a friend of a friend. I'm sure most of you have heard of them, it's like bonus school after school is over.

I figured I would just be a guest speaker or something, and was there to set up an appointment. To my surprise, he hired me for regular work and had me teaching right then and there. It was kind of surreal teaching out of Japanese textbooks on the spot, but I guess it went OK since I'll be back several times each week.
