I do get into a mindset at times, where sometimes I only think to counter when I'm behind in the first place. In a lot of later 1 on 1's I actually start to do it a lot more which is kind of backwards since some of zelda's electric attacks go through the counter instance. All in all I could have stood to use it more instead of dodging or trying to set up shield grabs.

oh whoops somehow I thought you were playing zss, but I can understand what you mean about the mindset, if someone tries to grab you 9 times out of 10 doing a counter really leaves you open so you get paranoid about it. I didn't know some of zelda's attacks can go through it though, I figured he just countered anything and everything.

If an attack is electric and has multiple hits on it (olimar's yellow pikmin tends to do this to me a lot -_-) youll get the counter animation on the first connecting hit but then youlll just get pegged by the following hits on it, not all the time, but often. Since my friends play olimar, zss, and zelda a lot there are a lot of times where I just don't use it because I figure i'm gonna get zapped like a doofus anyway.

Lol I'm gonna need to get those brawl matches replaced, some of them are just bad bad bad (big blue, for example). The one at battlefield has a kind of funny thing at 2:13 though.

Why no King Dedede

I really, really don't enjoy playing dedede. He's a huge target, slow, got no good specials, so that pretty much rules out any use I have for him. It's really not my playstyle though he seems to be pretty good at air combat. If you could make use of his quicker attacks and avoid his stupidly slow ones he may be useful, but I think kirby is pretty much the same thing only faster with useful specials.

Inhale, walk around, shoot them out as a star.

10% damage and I think he spits you a bit further than kirby does, but nothing spectacular happens. It's got some use to force a KO on a level that extends to the sides (really good on Flat Zone, I'd imagine)

Uh, he only really has one "bad" special. It's mostly called bad because they're isn't much use for it, but it can rival his fully charged F-Smash(while remaining much faster). I speak of his Down B, Jet Hammer.

Other than that... Super Dedede Jump(Up B) has amazing recovery(on top of his multiple jumps) and very easy to grab ledges with once you cancel it. Inhale(neutral B) is almost as certain to suicide kill as Koopa's bodyslam if you hit it outside the ring(someone on the ledge for example). His Waddle Dee Throw(directional B) is amazing. He's slow and a big target, but I don't think you can say much about his specials... he's gots it pretty good.

Well first off let me say that suicide kills are the gayest thing ever. That being said, his down B is definitely better than his forward smash, but you have to charge it to be of much use, and a fully charged f-smash is still stronger and takes less time to charge, also the hit range on it seems really small and low to the ground so it's near useless for anybody not standing directly in front of you. Recovery moves are great and all, but I guess I shoulda clarified offensive specials. What's so fantastic about his Waddle Dee Throw?

its just a really good projectile (speed/lag/range/trajectory) that is just a little annoying bitch to maneuver around (not that i have brawl, but i understand the mechanics enough to know what makes a good projectile)

Range isn't the greatest, and throwing more than one of those guys usually ends up having them collide with each other and negate the second one. HOWEVER, not having played him or against him enough previously, which I ended up doing just now, the move does do something I didn't expect, about 1 in 10(?) waddle dee throws results in some spiky motherfucker being thrown, felt like it has a bit more range and speed to it and hits for about 20-22% and can star KO a medium character at around 70%. Pretty pimp for a projectile, but doesn't deter from the fact that it's purely luck based.

Fun things I found out at today's play session:

Nothing like losing 2 lives in 15 seconds to a guy dressed in pink.

What I've found out is luigi is anything but invulnerable during his fs and some jerk with a bob-omb who doesn't wanna go to sleep can really ruin your day.

Waddle Dees can protect you from projectiles and if you hit them, they hurt the opponent again if they fly at them. Additionally, hits on against Waddles effects the decay on attacks. Another use is that they hurt a lot when they walk off the stage(or platform) and hit someone below. I've seen a smaller character get KO'd by this at around 100% in Pokemon Stadium. I guess I should also mention how easy they are to spam.
